Your Mayor needs you to help kick off plans for a bumper Erewash walking football tournament in the spring next year.
The Mayor, Councillor Donna Briggs, wants to host the charity event to raise funds for her three chosen charities – Treetops Hospice, the Canaan Trust and the Talking Newspaper for the Blind.
She wants it to be a big celebration tournament for all the family – but she can’t do it alone and is now ‘pitch-ing’ for support from everyone.
Walking football is aimed at all members of the community, regardless of age, gender, mobility or disability and at those who are simply less active than they used to be.

Or are you a local business that would like to put forward your own team or would consider sponsoring one of our teams?
Said the Mayor: “If you would like to get involved with this family focussed event we’d like to hear from you. Together, we can make a huge difference to the lives of others and have some fun in the process.”
Councillor Briggs is keen to see the support on offer as soon as possible for a Walking Football Tournament 2022. For further details or to register your interest, please contact the Civic Office on 0115 907 1115 or civic@erewash.gov.uk
