Alipt Sharma Principal,GEF Advisors India Mr. Sharma joined GEF in 2010 as an employee of GEF Advisors India, bringing extensive experience in Indian private equity transactions. He is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and managing investments in South Asia. Prior to joining GEF, Mr. Sharma was a member of the investment team at AMP Capital Investors (AMP) in India, where he was responsible for identifying, analyzing, and managing Indian infrastructure opportunities. Prior to joining AMP, Mr. Sharma was an Associate Vice President with Ambit Corporate Finance, a leading Indian investment bank, where he focused on acquisitions and private equity transactions while assisting in the expansion of its capital markets practice. Mr. Sharma also spent seven years with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, leading teams on consulting assignments for companies in the power and telecommunications sectors. He is proficient in English and Hindi. Mr. Sharma has a BA in Economics from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and an MBA from the Indian School of Business. He is also a Chartered Accountant.

Prashant Sinha Head - Energy, L&T Infra Finance I have 9 years of experience in Power sector. Out of it 7 years in power industry where I have worked as a developer, consultant & EPC contractor with Tata Group, Areva (French MNC) & Suzlon. For last two years, I am working as head Energy in L&T infrastructure finance where I am responsible for Investment strategy & project selection for financing.

Samir Shah Director– Waaree Energies Ltd Mr Samir Shah is qualified as a Chartered Accountant and lawyer (India) and as a MBA (Wharton). He has had a career in financial markets in New York and Hong Kong for the last 26 years with Deutsche Bank, Salomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs prior to forming his investment firm.He has been an investor in global financial markets and experienced in managing risk at these institutions. In the past few years, investments have included water management and renewable energy companies. Since last year, he spends most of his time in India. At Waaree, he is involved in financial and strategy decisions.

Gaurav Sood Managing Director, Solairedirect Energy India Pvt. Ltd. Gaurav Sood, 35, is the Managing Director of Solairedirect India. He was the first employee in India and has been instrumental in establishing Solairedirect amongst the leading Solar Photovoltaic IPP’s and EPC companies in India by building 16MW projects in the first operational year. He is MBA in Finance & Marketing and M. Tech. in Renewable energy and brings the rare mix of technical and business acumen to the table. He is currently also pursuing his PhD in Solar Energy Policy framework required for sustainable growth of the industry. Prior to joining Solairedirect, he was working on building a strong renewable energy portfolio for Bharat Forge, the flagship company of the $2.5 billion Kalyani Group. He has been involved in M&A, JV and fund raising for different companies in India and Europe. In his earlier roles he has worked as a management consultant in areas of strategy, operations, business excellence across industries like autocomponents, dye stuffs, polyester film, paper, asset reconstruction, insurance etc. On the personal front he tries to maintain work-life balance and spend quality time with his wife and daughter. His leisure pursuits are running, swimming and reading.

Naveen Khandelwal Head-Investments & Strategy at Hero Future Energies Ltd Total over 11 years journey covering active roles in Equity Fund Raising and Funds Deployment (Investments and Inorganic Business Development), Mergers & Acquisitions, Buy-outs, Control Investments comprising of Deal Origination, Deal Analysis, Deal Structuring, Financial Modeling, Due Diligence, Documentation & Deal Closure, Post Investment Analysis & Portfolio Management; supported by large ticket Infrastructure Project Finance/Structured Finance; post Techno-commercials and General Management in Power Sector Previous to Hero Future Energies he was working with Green Infra and SBI Capital Markets. He is a CFA and also did his masters from XLRI Jamshedpur.
