The Gameview with Oryaw “Since July 2017, there have been no new updates. The bulk of the developer team has since transitioned to develop and maintain Fortnite Battle Royale. Development of Unreal Tournament was confirmed to be halted indefinitely in 2018.” This piece of soulless news was issued not too long ago. Let's be honest with ourselves: Fortnite will always make more money than if Epic Games decided to finish and ship UT4. Minimal effort is necessary. Unreal Tournament 4 is the current iteration of the game. It's been stuck in a beta test for over 2 years now. Historically, there has always been a tradition to build a brand-new UT game to show off and demonstrate the power of each successive upgrade to the Unreal Engine. This is the only point in the history where that hasn't happened. It's soulless and it kills off the series that helped make PC as big as it is now. In other gaming news, Spyro Reignited and Fallout 76 released quite recently to warm and mixed receptions respectively. Reviewers praise the fidelity and return to formula Spyro needed so badly, but this is bringing back the return of overly-complaining critics comparing the difficulty to Dark Souls. On the nuclear crater that is Fallout 76, gamers have been less than pleased with shallow gameplay, reused assets that have honestly not aged well graphically speaking, and have been given an experience some claim could have been included with Fallout 4 from the start. It is

my understanding that the thentarnished idea of Bethesda needing to ramp up and begin work on using a newer engine has been making the rounds around the community. It is no secret that they have been using the same progressively updated engine for the past 10 years. The stubborn nature of Bethesda refusing to move into the future with a game engine that would prove beneficial for their game experiences is mind boggling to say the least. But it proves their development is nothing more than a copy-paste and slightly upgrade assembly line.

REAL?

REALBAD ENGINE Also in recent news, Red Dead Redemption 2 has become the second fastest selling media product of all time, with sales only slightly beneath GTA V. The game has been widely praised for containing a chunk feature-rich narrative with free-roaming elements and Rockstar's decision to take a bookmark from the past and Include two Blu-Ray discs containing the entirety of the game in order to avoid downloads. When compared to the practices of other AAA+ companies forcing consumers to download the majority of their products and making their

physical media nearly worthless, under the quotes struggle of "not making enough money back if multiple discs are included," critics can't help but take notice to the point being destroyed when analyzing RDR2. On the Nintendium spectrum of information, the latest incarnation of mainline Pokemon games, Let's go Pikachu and Let's go Eevee, has just launched only minutes ago. Gamers and critics are skeptical of the quality this new world will bring to the table, so we'll have to sit tight and wait until folks have played the game. "These new games will definitely help pass the month before the release of Smash Ultimate." One anonymous fan proclaimed before installing the game to their Switch unit. "What's the difference going to be this time? It's the same rinse and repeat formula with less content and creativity." Another said. In either case, the games are expected to help aid the Switch platform sell more units and the label of Pokémon will certainly guarantee revenue for the company. It's taking advantage of the Switch hardware's power to some degree, giving the world a more 3D feel than what had been seen in previous incarnations of the mainline series. Aesthetically, it looks closest to the likes of Pokémon Coliseum and Pokémon Stadium, games exclusive to mainline home consoles and not the portables the series is known for. And....on the last piece of news, an early Steam Christmas sale has arrived to the door. That's right folks, for optimal lowbudget purchases granted by the lord Gaben himself, your wallet is sure to go bone dry by the next year.
