Christmas Market and lights 2016
There was something for everyone at Epping’s Christmas Market on 2nd December 2016. Over 50 festive stalls filled the market with seasonal merchandise from 12 noon until 8pm and visitors were treated to entertainment from our local school children singing carols, a jazz band, magician and appearances from Elsa from Frozen and Peppa Pig. There were stalls selling wreaths, candles, gifts, hot refreshments and there was a lovely buzz around town. Santa even turned up at the Fire Station grotto! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. We hope you all had a great time. Thank to you Barrett Electrical for lighting up our Christmas trees and adding some extra sparkle to Epping.
Rotary Clubs of Epping -

This year’s annual ‘Carols on the Green’ was organised by the Rotary Clubs of Epping and surpassed all expectations. Despite the cold weather, there was a record turnout; many people enjoying the mulled wine while singing carols. Mince pies were supplied by Tesco. Children from Epping St Johns school provided the orchestra and choir, conducted by Rebecca Harvey. During the event, Rotarians collected in excess of £2,500, which will be donated to Epping St John’s School and the Epping Primary schools to provide new musical instruments for music teaching in these schools. During the lead up to Christmas, Father Christmas travelled around Epping, Theydon Bois and North Weald in his sleigh handing out sweets to children. He was supported by Rotarians collecting for charity. As president of The Rotary Club of Epping this year, a HUGE thank you to everyone who contributed to the fantastic total of £6,400 during the festive period. The Rotary Clubs of Epping support local charities and international communities and every penny collected will go to good causes.
