Biography
V
eronique Medrano was born and raised in Brownsville, Tx; on January 25, 1991. “My Mom will tell you I could sing before I could speak. When I was four years old she was concerned and thought I had no voice because I still hadn’t learned how to speak. One day, when she got home from work, she noticed I was humming “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” by Selena. The following day she bought me a Selena cassette tape, and within a few days I was singing every song on the tape. Music has always driven and motivated me to connect with people in a personal and unique way. When I perform in front of a crowd I feel electric. The sensation is one that I gain from my connection to the music, and the reciprocated connection from the audience. I am inspired by all types of music, but when I sing Tejano it is a tribute to the history of my culture and community.” Musical influences are: Rocío Dúrcal, Vicente Fernández, Shakira, Johnny Cash, Selena, Thalia, and Rita Moreno. pg 2
