SlimFlor ® – Reshaping Steel Building Design Fielders KingFlor® is Australia’s largest range of steel formwork profiles. Each of the five innovative composite steel formwork solutions provide unmatched performance and economy in a wide range of construction applications. THE SOLUTION Fielders SlimFlor® ‘in plane’ flooring system has the potential to significantly reshape steel frame and formwork construction in multi-story building applications. The SlimFlor® system has been developed using the Fielders SlimDek® 210 profile constructed ‘in plane’ with a custom asymmetric steel beam design. The SlimFlor® system allows for a reduced overall floor construction depth of 290mm. SlimFlor® not only delivers the intrinsic benefits of steel frame construction, but the optimised 290mm floor construction depth allows an additional ‘free floor’ compared to traditional steel frame design in the same building height for every 10 floors constructed. This means more tenant area for lease, reduced façade cost, reduced construction time, and less materials, labour and waste on site. THE PROCESS The SlimFlor® system has shown to reduce construction time by up to 20 per cent in multi-story applications.
