The two visitors from the Japanese Ministry of Justice,

which controls more than 70 prisons and detention centres, were senior technical officials from the Facilities Division. Above all, these visitors were impressed with the structure of the prison buildings as well as the daily routine of the prisoners. At the conclusion of the visit by the Chinese delegation, Phoenix Fu, the official translator said, “The delegates were really impressed by the good facility and solid infrastructure of the centre as well as the environment. So clean and fresh with plants and animals. Also they were moved by the kind attitude of officers to prisoners. When we visited one of the cells, the officer asked the prisoner “Is it okay to have a look of your room? That showed the respect of everyone in the prison.”
