THE WESTTOWN COOKIE EXCHANGE By Matthew Darnell McCurry
It was very exciting. We should do it more! We did a wonderful job explaining the cookies. It was very powerful. We had to decorate. We had to organize it. And we had to plan it. The people were very happy. One of the people had told me that they had fun. Aquilla, Wendy, and some more clients and staff. And most off, we should give a very, very glad thumbs up to Hannah, Mari, and Jason. Everyone was very pleased.

THE HOT CHOCOLATE BAR By Anthony B. It was a lot of fun. All of our friends came. We saw new people. We won 1st place for best decorated cookies! We had to make the cookies. We took a lot of pictures. We had hot chocolate, coffee, decaf coffee, and water. I did the hot chocolate. We had marshmallows, chocolate, candy canes. We had a lot of toppings! We had whipped cream - pumpkin whipped cream, peppermint whipped cream, and plain whipped cream.
CHRISKINDLEMARKET By Ruth and Rosa M. I like it. It was pretty. I ate sausage, a can of pop. I saw ornaments. I saw the tree. I saw the Germany Christmas ornament. I saw bracelets. I saw them. I saw coffee. I saw purses, sweaters. I saw popcorn. I saw little wallets. I saw a necklace. And I saw a coffee mug. I had a little apple donut.

BAKING COOKIES By Kasandra
I like how I made the cookies and decorated them and stuff like that. I put the frosting and stuff we made on there. I like the shapes - the hearts, the Christmas trees. I made the dough with the eggs and stuff. Spread it out and make it smooth with the rolling pin. Put it on top of a cookie sheet and roll it out. Put the cookie cutter on there. You bake it and you put it in the oven. Let the cookies cool off and stuff. Then after that, you decorate it, and that’s it! We made them. We won the prize for Best Decorated Cookie.

COOKIE EXCHANGE By Lucy Renee Patton
It was nice, all types of cookies. It was real nice. I found some money but I don’t know who it was, so I bought myself some coffee. One of the cookies had alcohol in it! Some kind of white cookie. It was a Bourbon Ball. Maybe I had too much bourbon. Maybe I got drunk. I never drink bourbon! Betty told me it had a lot of alcohol in it! I got drunk. I sat around and helped Mari. We did the chips. We gave them one of each color. The green one, the red one, and the beige one for who got the best cookies. You could vote on who made the best cookies. I’d like to have another one next year.

THE BEST TIME AT WESTTOWN By Matthew Darnell McCurry
It was me, Parchia, Dahla, Adam from Nashville. We went to Northwestern University. We practiced some event. They did an experiment with us, like cutting some fruit. They had a machine. They were explaining how it went. They were explaining to us how it goes. It was for each person to try out. They had lunch for us. At each exhibit, each table, they had each project. The one with the fruit was my favorite. It was fun. I enjoyed it.
NORTHWESTERN By Dejuanae
I went to a college. It was big college. I had the square in my hand. It helped with math. I walked on the first floor, upstairs, and downstairs. I had lunch. A turkey sandwich, chips, and ginger ale. It was a big sandwich and it was good. Pedro was there and he was eating too.
BARNEY MILLER I like the cast. Jack Soo played the police officer Yemana. He died. He’s gone. I like Fish. Sergeant Fish. The other one in there. I like his hat. I like Wojo. Sergeant Wojo. I like his baseball. He’s funny. I like his jacket. I like his desk. He’s kind of funny. I like Barney’s wife. That’s Barbara. She’s nice. They have two kids. I like the precinct. I like Ron. He writes books in the series. I like the set. I like all of them. I like the music. I like when Yemana makes coffee. He cooks. I like Barney’s kids. Two kids, a boy and girl. I like Fish’s wife, Bernice. She’s funny. I like his jacket. I like his hat. I like Leavitt. He’s funny. He brings in the mail. The show is about a bunch of cops. I like the set. They’re from New York. I love the cast. I like all of them.
CHARLES AND_ ENTERTAINM WALKER TEXAS RANGER Chuck Norris played Cordell. He is from Texas. I like his horse, Cookie. I like the house. He does karate. I like his hat. I like his grandpa. He’s Indian. White Eagle. I Iike his heritage. I like his truck. I like partner. I like the lawyer. She did Renegade. Alex Cahill. She was the judge on Renegade. Alex Cahill played the lawyer. She’s nice. I like her dresses. She’s tough. Walker Texas Ranger is a series about a cop who solves cases. I like the town. It’s beautiful. I like the clock. I like C.D. Parker. He died. He had a heart attack. I like his bar. Happy Holidays to the cast. I say “hi.”
LUCILLE BALL I like her music. I like her acting, she’s a great actress. She’s funny. She’s a great cook, a great mother. I like her costumes. She’s talented. She worked with Bob Crane in the video where he goes to the bank. I like Little Ricky, her son in I Love Lucy. I like Copacabana. Lucy and Ethel get into a lot of schemes in that show. I like Lucy’s hair. Her hair was red. She’s a red head. Ricky Ricardo played the drums, the bongos. I like his suits. Ricky was mad at Lucy and all her schemes. Her hometown is West Jamestown, New York. I like Ricky’s boss. He is the boss on the show. Lucy was in The Three Stooges. The football episode. The football game. She’s a talented woman, a talented lady. She died in 1989. All her friends are going to miss her.
COTTAGE GROVE’S ENT REVIEW THE MARVELS By Kenny Johnson I tried enjoy myself. I was watchinng The Marvels moves eating some popcorn and diet coke. I always enjoy myself at the Theaters. It is nice. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
By Valerie M. I went to go see The Marvels movie. It was totally awesome cool! Captain Marvel, Mrs. Marvel, Wondervision. The action was intense. I enjoyed The Marvels movie. I had a good time.

FUN IN THE DARK! An Article on the Arts in the Dark Parade by Michelle, Jerome, Wilbur, Marvin, and Victoria
Michelle says that she enjoyed decorating the butterflies before the parade at the Morgan Park Center. She liked holding the sign and the excitement from the crowd watching the parade. She also liked the facepainting and the “tattoo” she got on her face of a butterfly. She says she will sign up for it again next year. Jerome says that even though it was a lot of walking, he had a good time. He says, “Arts in the Dark parade was awesome.” He said that he would be willing to do it again next year and that his favorite part was getting his face painted. He was also really happy about the pizza that was served at the Rose Center. Wilbur was mostly excited about dancing during the parade when the electric slide was played. He enjoyed dancing and walking for the crowd that gathered for the parade. He says despite the cold, it was a lot of fun and he looks forward to doing it again next year. Marvin mentioned that it was fun holding up the signs, getting his face painted, and watching the caterpillar during the parade. He is also looking forward to participating next year. Victoria stated that she had a lot of fun, even though it was cold, she enjoyed being a butterfly for the parade, holding the signs, and hanging out with friends before, during and after the parade. She said before they left, they watched Halloweentown and when they got back, they had pizza. She says that she is excited to go back next year.
