CLONITA'S WALMART PAPER By Clonita B.

A Glance at Westtown

I went to Walmart for The Current Class with Lori and Hannah. I saw fruits and vegetables. I got a chance to talk about what food is healthy and and what's not healthy. I got a chance to walk around the store and see

Goodbye Diversey

the meats, the cheese, the dairy area. I got a chance to meet the Customer Service, and her name was Frankie. I liked it because I like to walk around and do a little sight-seeing, a little shopping. I got a chance

to see how we price our things on the cashier and everything. And we got a chance to eat cupcakes and water. I had a good time walking around the store. We got a chance to meet the ladies and the men at Walmart and we took a photo picture. I hope all the clients can read my

newspaper, and I hope all the clients will like my newspaper, and staff

too, and family members.

ZERO LANDFILL By Lucy P.

It was a nice event at the Zero Landfill on Saturday. The turnout was good. The food was good. The sandwich was good. I know we don't have none leftover. The potato chip was good but it was kind of spicy. I had a good time. I like communicating with people, greet them. I like helping other people. I came on time, I greet them and give them a mask. I enjoyed everything.

SUPER LANDFILL By Tony B. and Ruth M.

Some people came to 1801 N Spaulding for Zero Landfill. There's fabric, tiles, carpet, and glass that people bring in as donations. We give them away to different people who want to use it for different artwork.

Our favorite part about Zero Landfill is being here, working, and being with our friends and staff!

THE CHANNEL 2 NEWS By William C.

I was spreading the news to the whole world.

I felt a little nervous, but as I was talking I was warming up. Marissa was asking me questions, and I was answering the questions that she asked me. She asked me, "How do you spell your last name?" and I said, "Claiborne. It's the same was as you spell it in the movie Dolores Claiborne." She asked me, "What is Zero Landfill?", and I said, "Zero Landfill is a donation where people don't want anymore, and they are doing a lot of shopping for free." I said, "My favorite thing about Zero Landfill is making sure the stuff is gone, and recycling." She said, "What do you like about recycling?" and I said, "It saves the grass, the trees, the Earth, and the planet."

A lot of people were watching, I hope. I was hoping that 1,825 people was gonna show up to Zero Landfill. But, that did not happen. What did happen is that I am thankful that some people showed up.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE By William C.

I loved the Chamber of Commerce meeting. I enjoyed myself. I enjoyed the food/appetizers. The beer did not taste the same as at Activate. I had a few sips, but I did not actually drink it.

The meeting was about people owning their small businesses. I was wondering, did they save up a lot of money to open a business? When they open up a business, where did that money go? If they open up their own business, are they their own boss?

I said that I was a participant at Envision Unlimited and I do janitorial for a living. I was passing out the fliers for Zero Landfill. I was talking about Zero Landfill is when people come and donate stuff to us and people come to take whatever they wanted to take. It's more than just having wood and vinyl and glass. It's a donation where people shop free. This guy Connor, I asked him why does he have his brother's name on the button? And he said he was honoring his brother.

It made me feel great to meet new people.

I like writing poetry and small paragraph articles, and I love playing musical instruments like the acoustic electric guitar, the blues harp, the conga drum, and the keyboard. And I can blow "Taps" on bugle. I have been studying and playing those instruments ever since I was a kid in Folk World Music School on 103rd out in Roseland/Evergreen Beverly Hills area. I practiced it ever since I was a kid. I know Sam Junior and I know his family who works with Guitar Center and Sam Ash Music Store at Ford City, another one of his music stores. Sierie was one of my teachers and so was Sam Adams, Sam Jr.'s father, and one African lady helped me play guitar. I had one gifted writing skill for playing guitars. And I play rock music.
