Cracked Egg

By Evangelist Brenda Moss Host of Becoming Necessary www.necessarycoaching.com

I'm pretty sure like many of us. When you go to purchase eggs. (which are almost like gold these days). You check inside the carton to make sure that none of the eggs are broken. Even with our best efforts sometimes we get home to find that when we open the carton one of the eggs has cracked. How we ask. How did this happen? I know I checked before I left the store. I was careful when I bought them in the house. So how? Just how did this happen?

Well even though we are upset about the cracked egg. We neither return it to the store nor throw it out. I hope. Life sometimes makes us feel like a cracked egg. Almost as if we lose our value because of our cracks. We ourselves sometimes feel worthless because of our crack. We don't feel we measure up to the rest of the carton. I mean the world. We forget that it is not our shell that makes us worthy, but what's on the inside is where the value is. There is value on the inside of you. You are still usable.

How do I know? Even with the crack the egg can still be scrambled, fried, and put into recipes. I don't think you have ever seen anyone scramble an egg with the shell on. We must be cracked to get the best out of us. So many times others may have looked at your crack and thought there was nothing you could be used for. They often didn't believe in you or your abilities. They were not ready to accept your cracks. So just like the egg. They put you back until there wasn't another option. You were sometimes the last choice. All because of your crack. You are stressing over the small crack. Did you forget that you will have to be hit against something hard to bring out all that you can be? You will go through twists and turns in this life so that you know that it was for your making. Whatever that looks like. We must be broken open so that we can be used for what we were designed to do. A cake is nothing without an egg. Cornbread would not taste the same without an egg. These things don't taste different because of the crack. They taste better because the shell was broken open and added to the recipe. You are here to add flavor to things. To bring your uniqueness to a situation. To allow people to see that even though you have been broken there is still purpose in you. Never discard an egg that has a crack. Never think that you can't be used because of a crack. Don't let a crack bother you. It's the breaking that shows who you really are. I hope that in your breaking you know that you will make things better. Even if you are the last one out of the carton. Sometimes everything has been done to protect you and things still happen. It's just a crack. Get ready for the breaking.
