- Genesis 41:35 have four of the homes rented. They live off the rental income and military retirement pay. Do you know how disciplined you must be to pay off five houses in 20 years? Most of us will not pay off the house we live in, in 20 years, much less four other houses.

What is your vision? A vision is bigger than a goal or an objective. For example, an objective is to get out of debt. A goal might be to pay your kids to go to college. However, a vision is the greater umbrella in which your goals and objectives fall under, through specific strategies that support the vision. The Germans call it Weltanschauung - the big picture.

Again, I ask, what is your vision? Where do you want to be in 5, 10, 20 years from now? Why do you think you have to wait until you are 65 years old to retire?

I have an aunt that retired at the age of 43. She was a schoolteacher for 22 years. She did not have the age or the years to retire from the school system.

So, how did she retire at the age of 43?

Nevertheless, they were able to do that by not wasting money. They took one vacation, four short trips and minimized eating out each year. They set a budget each month and stuck to it. They sacrificed then so they can live free now!! Now, they travel the world, without a care in the world.

Here is a quick formula to determine how much income you will need to retire:

● Write down the monthly income that you think you will need to retire comfortably.

● Write down the secure sources of retirement income you have already put away.

● Subtract the amount that you think you will need.

● This number will provide you with the additional income that you are going to need to retire.

An example of a vision is financial freedom. The capacity to have your assets generate enough cash flow to maintain a superior standard of living that supports the optimal life you want to live forever.

Suggestion: Sit down with your spouse and determine at what age you would like to retire. Put a plan together and stick to it. If you are single, the only person that has to agree is you. Set your savings on auto drive and take off…
