Author Damaris Perry announces release of ‘The Gospel of God, One Word At A Time’ GONZALES, La. – In his new book “The Gospel of God, One Word At A Time” (published by WestBow Press), Damaris Perry offers readers biblical wisdom to help them through times of trouble and strife. Perry explores the meanings of various words from the Bible, expounding on them to offer readers spiritual guidance. His approach was to attempt to tap into the mind of God, offering readers understanding on what the words were originally meant to convey. According to Perry, “The Gospel of God, One Word At A Time” can be used as a guide when people experience trials in life. “It will reveal biblical truths,” he says. An excerpt from “The Gospel of God, One Word At A Time”: “God created the kingdom for every man on earth, but it's going to be up to you if you want to live in the kingdom. Some ask me what must I do to become a partaker of the kingdom? The scriptures clearly tell us that we must be born again. Become rich in faith and allow the Lord to deliver you from evil, then you too can become a member of the kingdom of God and enjoy all that he has for you.” Perry hopes his book inspires people to become more familiar with the Bible. “I want people to understand the importance of reading the word of God,” he says. “I also want them to know that whatever problems they experience in life there's always help in the word of God.”

Linda Gupton announces release of ‘Seasons in the South’ New book takes readers into a contested death during the Civil War LEWISBURG, Tenn. – In “Seasons in the South: The lives involved in the death of General Van Dorn” (published by AuthorHouse), author Linda Gupton’s new historic work, readers are taken back into the days of the Civil War and invited to witness the tragic tale of General Van Dorn. Jessie McKissack Peters is a stunning, young southern belle living in Tennessee and married to Dr. George Peters –her cousin by blood. When Nashville is attacked by the advancing Northern troops, George escapes and runs to his plantation in Arkansas. His wife, however, finds herself alone in the broken city. As time passes, Jessie begins to join General Van Dorn on carriage rides and parties. When George returns and hears of this, he is enraged and murders Van Dorn. But, shortly after, Jessie gives birth to a child. After readers are finished with the tale of General Van Dorn, “Seasons in the South” shifts gears and becomes a mystery book. Gupton begins shedding light on the families and individuals affected by the general’s death. She then looks into how certain parts of the story leave suspicion towards why or how the general was killed and to the Peters’ linage. Was George a spy? Who was the father of the baby Jessie bore? These questions and more will be looked and discussed in “Seasons in the South.” An excerpt from the book: “A servant witnessed Dr. Peters telling Jessie that he had just shot General Van Dorn. ‘Miss Jessie just stood there with her hands on her hips and said, ‘Now ain’t that the devil, a sweetheart killed and a husband runs away—all in the same day!’” It is the author’s hope that after reading her book, readers will be able to see what actually happened, how the rumors started and the why certain individuals acted the way they did. “Books have been written about General Van Dorn and military strategy but not about the lives involved in his death or what happened to their families.”

James Whale spreads his wings recording Tony Klinger’s new audio book launch of The Butterfly Boy Renowned film-maker Tony Klinger’s first novel, The Butterfly Boy has been released to early acclaim and it has just been revealed that the audio book has been voiced by celebrated and opinionated radio and television host, James Whale, with a multi-platform web launch scheduled for 1 September. The Butterfly Boy is a sweeping and inspiring account of its lead character Arnie’s triumph over Polio, and the trials and tribulations of Germany through the twentieth century including two World Wars and the economic miracle that followed. The story is one of an extraordinary man, taking an astonishing journey in tumultuous times and the strength of Arnie’s character made James Whale the perfect choice to perform the voiceover. “For The Butterfly Boy audiobook it was important to have someone with the voice to accurately convey Arnie’s strength and passion and I’m delighted we were able to secure James’ services,” said author Tony Klinger. “James’ own strength of character reflected in his tone mirror’s Arnie’s, so he was the perfect choice. When I first heard James narrating, I was blown away. His delivery really brings the story to life and I’m sure those who buy the audiobook will agree.” Reviews of The Butterfly Boy have been excellent: “From the opening pages this book gripped me – a page turner wonderfully influenced by the author’s experience as a filmmaker: something happening on every page to propel Arnie’s amazing story forward, every scene a visual treat,” provide an indication of the book’s ability to draw the reader into “…a good story, well told.”1 The story is now well told in a whole new way thanks to James Whale’s powerful performance. The grand launch of the audio book is taking place on 1 September in London, where people will be able to come along and hear excerpts from the audio book, coupled with the opportunity to meet both James Whale and the author himself Tony Klinger. As a radio and television host, James Whale needs no introduction. Famous for his plain speaking, his distinctive broadcasting style marked James out as one of the country’s foremost presenter’s, broadcasters and voiceover specialists. He first rose to national prominence with The James Whale Show on ITV in the late 80s, but has also hosted the show on TalkSport and was most recently on the airwaves at LBC in London. He can also be caught reviewing the papers on SKY News most Thursday mornings, and occasionally on This Morning and Daybreak. Born into a creative family in London, film director, producer and author Tony Klinger is no stranger to success. His father Michael produced the critically acclaimed ‘Get Carter’ starring Michael Caine amongst many other films and Tony built on these accomplishments. By the age of 18 Tony was making his own films, and while The Butterfly Boy is a first novel, over 500 media productions in the UK and USA stand testament to dedication to his art. His love of the medium of film is reflected in the uniquely visual storytelling style of The Butterfly Boy which needed a vivid voice to convey. “James’ voice is warm and full of character and his personality is perfect for conveying Arnie’s struggles,” added Tony. “When I was a young boy, one of my good friends tragically died from Polio so it was important the voiceover artist could convincingly convey what it is like for the main character to live with the condition – something James’ forceful style delivers with conviction.” While Arnie’s story drives the novel, the vivid journey through 1930s Germany is brought to life as perhaps only a celebrated filmmaker can; while the clash between Arnie and Nazi Officer Ratwerller is written in a refreshing prose style, and is brought to life with a chilling authenticity in the audiobook thanks to James Whale’s compelling performance. The Butterfly Boy can be purchased at: http://is.gd/STBh2P. Tony Klinger is kindly donating a share of the profits to The British Polio Fellowship, a national charity dedicated to helping those still living with Polio and Post Polio Syndrome (PPS) in the UK Today.

Steve Grizzle announces release of ‘The 3 “P” Man’ New book takes readers into the extraordinary life of an adventurer MULDROW, Okla. – In “The 3 “P” Man: Memoirs of a Perfect Life Adventure: A Preacher, a Pilot, and a Police Officer All in One Person” (published by iUniverse), author Steve Grizzle’s new memoir, readers are invited into the charmed, exciting and dramatic life of Grizzle. As readers move through the memoir, the author gives them details of a life lived as an exciting journey, leading him from preaching in the pulpit to traveling the world as a pilot to serving as a police officer. “As a man with a true need for speed,” says Grizzle, “my journey has been one of exciting and unforgettable events.” Some of these events take readers into stories about chance encounters with celebrities, while others take them into the air, where death is hiding behind pristine, white clouds. “Sharing stories full of action, inspiration and adventure, ‘The 3 “P” Man’ presents a unique and intriguing memoir,” says the author. An excerpt from “The 3 “P” Man”: “Perfect might be a little exaggeration when I think back on some of life’s adventures, but most of them were certainly unforgettable. Experiences I’ve shared with Sam Walton, Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, as well as the hundreds of people I’ve got to rub shoulders with from other countries like Canada, Mexico, Denmark, Estonia, and Germany. To be only the second corporate jet to go into Estonia after Russia opened her borders in and be met with a group of young Russian soldiers armed with machine guns, not being able to speak a word English, made for some nail biting moments especially knowing that our chairman of the board was sitting in the back of the jet and had forgotten his passport back in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Or when I came face to face with some demons in Louisiana that would like to have attacked me are experiences that I think of so very often.” “The 3 “P” Man” By Steve Grizzle Hardcover | 5.5 x 8.5 in | 300 pages | ISBN 9781475991260 Softcover | 5.5 x 8.5 in | 300 pages | ISBN 9781475991253 E-Book | 300 pages | ISBN 9781475991277 Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble About the Author Steve Grizzle obtained a pilot’s license while getting his bachelor’s degree. Susan Bowmer announces release of ‘Murderer in the Family’ New book takes real life events and weaves them together to form a work of creative non-fiction GOLDSBORO, N.C. – After covering multiple murder cases which involved the death penalty, author and journalist Susan Bowmer decided it was time to sit down and make an informed decision about where she stood on the death penalty. “Murderer in the Family” (published by AuthorHouse is her look at the death penalty and how it affects the lives of the individuals involved. Readers watch in horror as Butch McPherson kills his wife, Emily. With Emily dead and Butch on death row, their children fall into the jurisdiction of the court system. Will the children be able to stay together or will the state separate them? Will they be able to visit their father or will the state forbid it and who truly gets to decide how the children live out their young lives after such a tragedy? These are only a few questions Bowmer looks at in this tale. An excerpt from “Murderer in the Family”: “Fighting, always fighting! Why didn’t they just try to be nice once in awhile? Josie McPherson cowered in her bed with her pillow over her ears and blanket over her head. She hated it when her parents fought and for most of her five years that was all they had done! Why couldn’t Butch and Emily just get along like the parents on Married with Children or My Two Dads or just get a divorce like the real I Love Lucy? Dead and divorced in real life, but living ecstatically happy forever in reruns!” “The McPhersons are a compilation of many families I observed,” says the author. “The other case histories in the book are true. “Murderer in the Family” By Susan Bowmer Softcover | 6 x 9in | 138 pages | ISBN 9781481746533 E-Book | 138 pages | ISBN 9781481746540 Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble About the Author Susan Bowmer has always been an avid reader and writer.
