Information for tobacco retailers and manufacturers Important changes resulting from the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act Effective November 19, 2018, the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act will prohibit the manufacture and sale of ALL tobacco products containing:
• menthol (including l-menthol) • menthone (including l-menthone) As of Nov 19, this means:
• Manufacturers cannot use menthol and menthone in making any tobacco product; and • Retailers and manufacturers must stop selling any tobacco product with these additives. Information about provincial laws may be obtained by contacting the relevant jurisdiction directly.
