Ciao! PALLADINO A few words come to my mind - family, tradition, craftsmanship, respect, community, iconic, savvy, truth. Put THAT in a glass! 96pts

The Palladino family has been crafting some of the most notably sought-after wines from the Barolo appellation of Piemonte (”foot of the mountains”) for years. Piemonte is surrounded by mountains on 3 sides, which provides a protective barrier offering sunny slopes for growing Nebbiolo grapes. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, Palladino Barolo wines are silky and full of deep red fruit flavors with delightfully smooth finishes. Truly among the best.

Franciacorta - raise your hands if you’ve heard of it? For the rest of us, here’s a brief overview, courtesy of Wine Enthusiast: "If there’s a wine gem that’s just waiting to be widely discovered, it’s Franciacorta. A world-class metodo classico, or bottle-fermented, sparkler, it boasts pedigree and style, yet remains largely unknown outside of Italy. For years, Franciacorta has been compared to Champagne, because the two wines use the same bottle-fermentation method and primary grape varieties—but the comparisons end there. The best Franciacortas have their own identity." Antica Fratta can be traced back to the mid-1800's. In the 1960's, Franco Ziliani made the very first Pinot di Franciacorta vintage, followed by Luigi Birolini who runs the winery today, continuing the winery’s pursuit of excellence.
