Southfork Summerfest – Southfork

Summerfest is an annual event devoted to family and friends in the Nooksack River Country and held this year on Sun., July 21, 12:30-9pm at Josh Vander Yacht Memorial Park, 4106 Valley Hwy. in Deming. Music is provided by Band Zandt and Beet. Throughout the day, candidates for Whatcom County offices will be on hand to meet the public. The JVM Park has basketball, pickle ball, handball, jungle gym, swings and horseshoes. The commemorative “Reading of Names” of regional youth is at 4pm with a potluck at 5:30pm. The 2nd Annual Taylor Shellfish-tival will be held Wed., July 24, 11am-4pm, at Taylor Shellfish Farms on Chuckanut Drive.

Local organizations will host tons of fun, kid-friendly activities such as fairy houses, shell art, button making, and water quality testing! Enjoy the live-touch tank from the Marine Life Center as well as low tide beach walks at noon and 2pm. War Birds Over Whatcom – The Bell
