Turn it Up! Culture week is an opportunity for Enloe students to showcase their culture at school and express themselves through thier clothing, music, dances, and performances. Culture Week is hosted by the Student Equity Team; a lesser known club put in the spotlight due to its amazing success of culture week. The week consisted of ™Music Monday∫where Crescenloe, Enloe's accapella troupe, preformed a mashup of Micheal Jackson songs including ™Rock with you∫™IWant you back∫and ™Blame it on the Boogie.∫ Robert Ward (11), a performer in the group says he has a cultural connection to the song, ™My personal connection from my African descent.∫ Tuesday was deemed ™Talk about it Tuesday∫ where we celebrated by having a discussion panel with Dr. Jordan and our former principle Dr. Chavis. The panel opened the floor for students to be more comfortable with discussing their concerns with equality and inclusion within the school.™World Market Wednesday∫allowed students to share foods from their cututral backgrounds, by selling different foods as well as snacks from all around the globe, like a mini World Market. Thursday, the last day of culture week was ™Culture Day.∫ After school, two foodtrucks called ™Bulkogi∫ and ™DelTaco∫ were set-up behind the towers of the Atrium, selling foods from South America, as well as Korean BBQ. There were activities set up, an area where students could draw their countries flag, a station set up to learn about books from around the world, and a very competitive game of cornhole. Culture Week was a great success and the Students Equity Team is so excited to see what they can pull off next year!
