There are four people in my family. My son’s name is Vincent. Vincent is sitting on the right. He is eighteen years old. He is studying in high school. He studies hard and well. I hope he will go to university next year. He is a handsome boy. His hobby is reading. He has very many books in his study room. 6

My wife, Eileen, is sitting between Vincent and me. She is studying English at VCC with me. We are classmates. From Monday to Thursday, I drive my wife to school. She likes cooking and shopping. In our daily lives, we cook Chinese food at home. My mother is eighty-two years old. She looks younger than 82 yearsold. She is retired and stays at home. My mother is very kind. I hope she can be happy in her old age. I am a businessman in China. I have a hotel in Xiamen China. I also have a company. My company makes street lamps, builds houses, and highways. I can do many things in China, but I need to improve my English to do something in Canada. In the future I hope I can get a building licence. Now learning English is very important for me. My family moved from China on January 1, 2012. We have lived in Vancouver for one and half years. We like Vancouver. The air is fresh, and the water is clean. The people are friendly. Last winter, we went to Cypress Mountain and enjoyed skiing. In the summer, I liked jogging in the park. Sometimes we went on a picnic. I have many friends that live in Vancouver. Tiana’s Shanghai World Expo

It was the night of the Shanghai World Expo. That was an extraordinary night! We left our footprints and left unforgettable memories there. On June 5, 2010, we visited the Shanghai World Expo. Various countries from around the world had pavilions to show important information about their countries. We paid special attention to the Canada pavilion so we went to Canada’s exhibition hall first. The Canadian pavilion covered an area of 6000 square meters. The building looked like half a circle. There was a public area was in the middle of the hall. We saw all kinds of wonderful performances on the stage there. For example, we saw the world famous Cirque du Soleil performance.
