Leading global companies have a strong strategy for environmental responsibility. One of the worlds largest pulp and paper companies, aiming to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint, trusted their compressed air systems (CAS) energy efficiency improvement to Enersize. Enersize’s CashAIR™ service was started in one of their pulp and paper factories, which was using 25 GWh/a for CAS production. The target was to achieve a minimum of 30% in permanent savings from CAS energy costs.

During this process we raised our goal into 45% within the next 4 years.
The CashAIR™ service process started with a kick-off meeting with the customer’s plant team, where the detailed objectives, resources and schedules were agreed on. For one month the energy efficiency reference measurement, a customer plant tailored CA energy efficiency measurement system called AIRSave™ (designed by Enersize) was installed in the plant. For several months Enersize’s expert team investigated the customer plant CAS processes, analyzing AIRSave™ data and energy consumption and after that finalized the action plan and savings potential report, which was then presented to the customers project management team. Enersize carried out all agreed investments including complete installations, system optimizations and customer personnel trainings. The real-time AIRSave™ system verified the savings achieved and as a major result the goal was changed to decrease the annual CAS energy consumption by more than 45% within the next four years. The customer, owner of dozens of factories around the world, is now aiming to decrease the company´s total CAS energy consumption by an amount equivalent to the annual electricity usage of five plants. During this process we raised our goal to 45% within the next four years.
