El proceso inicia con una asesoría para revisar el estatus de digitalización del cliente y luego, en conjunto, vemos sus necesidades y desarrollamos un plan de implementación”, mencionó Alejandro Preinfalk, vicepresidente Ejecutivo de Digital Industries de Siemens, para quien la adopción de la Industria 4.0 “es un traje a la medida; un cambio digital de cada empresa”. Entre los mecanismos necesarios para mejorar las operaciones, se encuentran aquéllos que permiten reproducciones y diseños de productos cada vez más especializados. En este contexto, Alejandro Preinfalk precisó que “hablamos del gemelo digital, que permite simular en software

tanto el producto como la fábrica que se va a utilizar. Eso proporciona agilidad ante cualquier modificación”. Para llevar a cabo estas actividades, es necesario enfrentar retos y empezar por la toma de conciencia de la industria. “No es un tema de si subirse o no a la ola de transformación digital, sino de cuándo hacerlo. Nosotros estamos convencidos de que el tiempo es ahora y estamos para apoyar a las empresas de todo tamaño; hablamos también de PyMES”, comentó el especialista. En este campo, la ciberseguridad juega un papel importante, factor que la empresa atiende de la mano con la calidad de todos los productos. El vicepresidente Ejecutivo de Siemens apuntó: “tenemos que operar en un ambiente seguro en el nivel informático, ya que muchas de estas tecnologías se basan en una interpretación inteligente de datos. Tenemos herramientas como inteligencia artificial, machine learning, blockchain e instrumentos de transmisión 5G, que posibilitan rapidez y confiabilidad”.

To carry out these activities, we need to face challenges and start by raising the industry’s awareness. “It is not a matter of if but when to ride the wave of digital transformation. We are certain that the time is now, and we are here to support companies of all sizes; we are also talking about SMEs,” said the specialist. In this field, cybersecurity plays an important role, a factor that the company attends to hand in hand with the quality of all products. The Executive Vice President of Siemens pointed out: “We have to operate in a secure environment at the IT level since many of these technologies are based on intelligent data interpretation. We have tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and 5G transmission instruments, which enable speed and reliability”. “It is also possible to analyze and optimize the supply chain and identify potential problems in the future, predict consumer demand and the manufacturing line. It has a lot to do with intelligent information management and is where we can add value,” he said. In terms of flexibility, he said that manufacturers could develop more product variants on the same production line. At the same time, digitalization translates into energy and cost savings, as well as time efficiency. Thanks to these actions, the company has been able to reduce processes from 18 to nine months.
