High Efficiency Lighting Challenge and Opportunities •  Lighting efficiency mandate from building owner/operator to integrated energy conservation and performance team : reduce lighting power density to below 0.8 W/sf, ideally targeting 0.6 W/sf •  Lighting team identifies primary opportunities to maximize energy efficiency/conservation while maintaining or improving light performance for optimum tenant satisfaction •  New High Efficiency / High Performance T8 retrofit of existing standard performance T8 •  Replacement of halogen lamps with LED lamps and other best LED opportunities: lobbies, elevators, exterior lighting, parking garage, signage •  Retail tenant engagement program

High Efficiency T8 Lamp and Ballast Retrofit •  Commercial office tower solution: retrofit existing 2 x 32W T8 lamps and standard performance ballast to 2 lamp T8 high performance, low ballast factor, and 2 x 28W T8 lamps •  Existing fixture wattage consumption: 59 watts •  Retrofit solution wattage consumption: 48 watts •  Lighting Power Density reduced from 0.88 W/sf to 0.65 W/sf •  With occupancy sensors, operating less than 0.5 W/sf •  Outstanding energy and cost savings achieved while maintaining perceived lumen level, improved light quality, lumen maintenance and longer lamp life

High Efficiency T8 Fluorescent and LED Lamp Results •  Lighting Power Density reduced from 0.88 W/sf to 0.65 W/sf •  With occupancy sensors, operating less than 0.5 W/sf

High Efficiency T8 Lamp and Ballast Retrofit and Delamp •  Commercial office tower solution: retrofit existing 2 x 32W T8 lamps and standard performance ballast and delamp to single-lamp high performance ballast and 1 x 28W T8 lamp with reflector kit •  Existing T8 fixture wattage consumption: 59 watts •  Retrofit/delamp T8 wattage consumption: 25 watts •  Combined with occupancy sensors •  Contributed to overall achieved efficiency: 1.27 W/sf to 0.56 W/sf •  Critical for team to work closely with building owner/operator to carefully test and analyse lighting applications to ensure maintenance of required light levels and optimum tenant satisfaction
