“It’s a testament to the incredible, longstanding support of the Atlanta community that we’re able to serve our 50-millionth guest,” Jamie Vosmeier, the Fox Theatre’s senior director of sales & marketing, said on the occasion. “We’re honored that so many people have come to experience the Fox’s rich history since 1929, and we look forward to creating memories with 50 million more guests in the future.” Here are a few fun facts about the Fox Theatre: • The landmark opened its doors on Christmas Day in 1929 to a sold-out crowd. • Since then, the Fox has hosted more than 18,000 performances. • The Fox Theatre attracts more than 500,000 guests per year. • The theater has 4,678 seats. • Billboard Magazine named it the No. 1 nonresidency venue in the world, booking a wide range of events from rock concerts to Broadway shows, ballets, comedy and movies. • In 2015, the theater celebrated the four decades since it was saved from demolition with yearlong 40th anniversary of Save the Fox festivities.
