In a year that started with many of our team still working from home, continuing community uncertainty and economic impact we have certainly come a long way on the journey through Covid.
The Centacare Teams resilience and willingness to adapt has allowed us to continue making a difference in unusual and trying times. With disruption across the region, and rapidly changing community needs, Centacare FNQ has risen to the challenge, identifying new and emerging trends, developing innovative responses, and sourcing funding and collaborative partnerships to address a range of social issues.
Pivoting to increased employment and training support, in language information, savvy solutions for school, work and social participation, increased mental health and wellbeing awareness, all with a place-based approach, the Centacare Team has met all challenges head on. The Centacare Board is now well established and undertook a full strategic planning process, which has resulted in a detailed plan over three years, working towards increased service delivery across our community, building upon our strengths and long established relationships and partnerships. Significant change at a Management level part way through the year has seen a new Management Structure, led by a new team, focused on working collaboratively to value add across Services.
Managers are working closely with the Senior Team to operationalise the Strategic Plan, once again rising to the challenge of trying to do more with less, in trying times. We continue working towards an inclusive and resilient community, making a difference together with our community, clients, staff, volunteers and various levels of government. My appreciation for the dedication, creativity and determination of our team to push on through, regardless of the hurdles we face, grows each time we take on a new challenge, together.
