Bishops Message

This year we have seen rapid changes in our communities across Far North Queensland. There are always personal implications when people experience such change. They face the uncertainty that there lives may be dislocated further. At these times, social services are essential.

This year we acknowledge 40 years of service to the community. Over this time many programmes undertaken by Centacare have made a significant contribution to the community. From it's beginnings in 1981 under the direction of Fr John McGrath to the current team lead by Anita Veivers I have appreciated the dedication to care to service provided each day to our local communities.

We acknowledge and respect the country on which we work and the cultural connection of the First Nations community in Far North Queensland.
