Futura was designed by Paul Renner in 1927. It’s country of orgin is Germany. It took three years from conception to the release of the Futura font. It is still widely used today because of its easy readability and balanced letters. It is considered a geometric sans-serif font.







BASKERVILLE Baskerville was designed by John Baskerville around the 1750’s in England. It is thought that Baskerville might have been influenced by calligraphy because of the sharp serifs and the changed center of the the rounded letters. Baskerville developed it to use in printing good quality books.







CASLON

The Caslon font was designed by William Caslon in 1722. He lived in England. It was used a lot during the 18th century and was the font used on the Declaration of Independence. It fell out of use, but was later revived with modern typesetting methods.

The Didot font was developed sometime betwen 1784 and 1811. It was developed by Firmin Didot of France. It became a family font when his brother Pierre Didot used this font in printing. It is considered to be a neoclassical font.

DIDOT







Clarendon was relased by Thorowgood and Beasley of England in 1845. It is a nice font for display purposes so it was used a lot during the 20th century. A popular use was using the font for wanted posters.

HELVETICA Helvetica was developed in 1957 by Eduard Hoffman and Max Miedinger of Switzerland. It has over 50 different styles in its family. It is a very popular neogrotesque font.

Y Seravek is a really new font. It was created in 2007 by Eric Olson of the United States of America. It is one of the Apple company’s fonts used in its operating system. It is a sans serif font.
