Each of the three cities featured offers a unique range of historic buildings, cobbled streets, wide market places and museums, as well as cafés and restaurants that will satisfy the most discerning of gourmets
Based in the beautiful historic city of Rouen where William the Conqueror and Joan of Arc died. Victor Hugo called it "the city of a hundred spires” and it offers so much to its visitors – wander through medieval streets amidst half-timbered houses and buildings dating from the 13th century, take a stroll along the River Seine to the bustling river port, relax in a pavement café or visit one of the many museums

Monday Outward journey to Rouen, arriving in plenty of time to settle into your room before our evening meal
Friday A morning departure for our journey to Dover and a lunch time channel crossing to Calais. From here we continue to Mechelen for a welcome drink, dinner and overnight accommodation
Tuesday A day at leisure to explore Rouen, with its delightful old quarter. You may wish to visit one of the 14 outstanding museums, or perhaps the glorious and flamboyant gothic Notre Dame Cathedral, which was the subject of 28 paintings by the impressionist artist Claude Monet. Whilst exploring don’t miss the Rue du Gros-Horlage, where you can walk under the beautiful great clock that is one of Rouen’s most popular monuments
Saturday A morning at leisure in Mechelen. Discover the market square, waterways, St. Rumbold’s Cathedral and the regular market. In the afternoon on to Leuven where the beautiful squares and Begijnhof, a well preserved and completely restored historical quarter, will prove a highlight. Return to Mechelen, where there are a host of good restaurants to be found near the hotel Sunday An excursion to Ghent. Criss-crossed by canals and with a fine array of impressive medieval buildings – its collection of more than 900 listed buildings is the largest in Flanders – this picturesque city is one of Europe’s treasures. We include a morning guided sightseeing tour, and the rest of the day is free to explore at your leisure
Wednesday We make our way to the town of Honfleur – a real gem! You will be captivated by this small maritime city, with its lovely port, picturesque streets and half-timbered houses. We continue along the coast road to Deauville, where you will have time to explore this internationally renowned resort. During the afternoon we head to a Calvados Distillery for a guided tour and tasting, and where you will discover the richness of Calvados, its secrets and history
Monday We begin our homeward journey, with a break in the extraordinary city of Ypres, before continuing to Calais for our return sailing
Thursday We commence our return journey, taking a break in the small Normandy town of Eu, situated in the valley of the river Bresle, and best known for its Castle – the Chateau d’Eu. From here we continue to Calais and board our return ferry to Dover
