Good design is all about the right attitude. Of course it also needs to tick the right boxes; it needs to be sustainable, functional, beautiful, accessible, ethical and enduring. But truly great design is the result of something more thoughtful and more instinctive. Great design is the product of the designer’s deeply held belief that they can make something better to improve the way we live. Embassy Living’s entire design team shares this vision and practices it each and every day. Under the guidance of our principal design curator, architect and designer Brian Steendijk, our creative direction has never been in better hands. Steendijk’s approach explores Dutch roots, a nation known for its visual literacy and well-considered design culture, and tempers it with an Australian free-spirited larrikinism. Each one of Steendijk’s designs is testament to his tenacious pursuit of perfection, resulting in pertinent objects that combine elegance with dashing style: Cero, Coral, Dove, Pinch, Marilyn, Chuckel, Yhi, Clover and Anise are just a few of the pieces that reflect Steendijk’s vision. Working beside Steendijk is Shaun Crossman; a much-valued member of the design studio from its inception. Crossman’s keen eye for detail and invaluable collaborations have ensured robust product solutions for our design-focused consumer. And introducing our Berlin based designer Timo Lück, whose recent collaboration with the team has produced Corsette; a Euro-inspired bohemian pendant lamp with a charming ever-changing form. Engaging such talent as this under one brand, has allowed Embassy Living to produce designs that are international in scope, yet celebrate and embrace the relaxed antipodean lifestyle. It’s hard to believe it all began back in 2002, when we responded to an exhibition brief to design a bespoke chair for the 21st Century. Our fresh interpretation of a seat, mobile in nature and dynamic in form, went on to win an Australian Design Award. We called it ‘Cero’ and its handsome little sibling the ‘subCero’. It wasn’t long before you called it a timeless icon of Australian design and it became a welcome addition to the Powerhouse Museum’s ‘Permanent Collection’ in Sydney. Today it is distributed throughout Europe, America, Japan, Singapore, New Zealand and of course Australia. After more than 15 years of success we are proud to unveil our latest ‘Ambassador Collection’ to the Australasian, European, North American and Asian markets. For longer plant life and 60% less water usage than traditional planters sub-irrigation maintains your plants for longer. It is recommended to water using the filler port only and to gauge the water level by inserting a dipstick through the filler port. All internal planters are enclosed systems with a wicking system to keep the soil moist. It allows a reservoir of water in the planter sealed by the filler cap to prevent any potential mosquito infestation. Growing pots are suspended on rim of interior water reservoir. Designed from 10 inch/ 250mm pots up to 12inch/ 300mm.
