Amen. 15 Ave Donna santissima Ave Donna santissima, / regina potentissima.

Show thyself a mother, / may the Word divine / born for us thine Infant / hear our prayers through thine. Virgin all excelling, / mildest of the mild / free from guilt preserve us / meek and undefiled. Keep our life all spotless, / make our way secure / till we find Jesus, / joy for evermore. Praise to God the Father, / honor to the Son, / in the Holy Spirit, be the glory one. Amen

Hail, most holy lady, / most powerful queen. Thou art the door and thou art the dwelling, / from thee was born God and man, / thou tree with sweet apples, / always in full bloom. Through thy pure wisdom / thou kept the Scriptures: / all people find safety in thee, /thou purest of women. In thy mercy thou sought / the apostles’ consolation, / for thy passing away / their company most beloved. Since they had gone / and were scattered about the world, / thy prayers brought them back to thee, / thou happiest of women. When thou wast at prayer, / they came together to you / then you did not need to remain, / thou gentlest of queens. Thou knewest well / thou wast leaving the desert: / up to heaven, which opened for thee, / thou went, thou most delightful of women. Into their hands wert thou given over: / I believe thou hast fallen asleep: / of translation to the other life / thou wast ever most certain. In ritual robes / their sacred band / had come together / with most high piety. In truth, Saint Thomas /did not come with the others: / he came after, in a hurry, / into the presence of the most beautiful. When he came to the mountain, / he saw the Lady rise, / the angels who attended her / filled the air most full. And he shed many tears and uttered many cries / with tears his face was washed: / “What treasure has been taken from me, / a jewel most precious! I shall never leave this place / if thou lendest me not thy help, / see that I am believed, / O lady most worthy of praise.” The Queen loosed her swathes, / she saw he was not feigning, / now she removed her girdle, / she who is most gracious. “Thomas, take thou this from me, / comfort thee with the apostles, / say I am alive, I am not dead; never have I been more happy.”
