Abstract With the emergence of a new disease called COVID-19, it was suggested the application of radiomics to computed tomography (CT) images in the context of this disease. The study aims to test the diagnostic and prognostic capacity of the radiomic characteristics extracted from chest CT scans of patients with COVID-19 and other pneumonia not attributed to SARS-CoV-2, found in pulmonary injury patterns. One of the objectives was to test the ability of the classifier to differentiate the COVID-19 pathology from other type of pneumonia, and to observe which radiomic features are most significant in this differentiation. For the extraction of radiomic data, automatic, semi-automatic and manual segmentation techniques were used. The results obtained were significant, especially about the classification COVID-19 vs. other pneumonia. It was found that the techniques we use should be improved, since they are very time-consuming, especially when it comes to image segmentation.
