An East London-based social enterprise, European Learning Network (ELN) partners on EU-supported E.N.C.L.O.S.E project to raise awareness of social inclusion among adults, youth and disadvantaged groups.

E.N.C.L.O.S.E – Establish a New Co-operation to Let Obtain Social inclusion in Europe – focuses on social inclusion programmes and workshops that address the goals set out in the EU 2020 Strategy for the promotion of sustainable and inclusive growth across the member states. The ENCLOSE project has the support of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme Grundtvig.

ELN will host the inaugural seminar on Social Inclusion Practices on Tuesday 12 March 2013, 9:30 a.m. at the Idea Store, 321 Whitechapel Road, London. All ten project partners from Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania ,Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey and UK will be represented.

Jabeer Butt, Deputy CEO of Race Equality Foundation will talk about social inclusion practices in the UK at 10.40am. Akademie Uberlingen will present case studies from Germany, and this will be followed by a discussion as well as a Q&A session. In the afternoon, the delegation will visit the Jagonari Centre – a charity in Whitechapel that promotes the social well-being of women – to demonstrate the success of their social inclusion model.
