LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

Dear Friend of Elms College, On behalf of the board of trustees, I am pleased to present this 2010 – 2011 annual report. With the support and vision of our dedicated trustees, and the leadership of Mary Reap, IHM, Ph.D., it has been a year of many accomplishments. From identifying our core values, developing new academic programs and growing our student enrollment, we continue to ensure that each student has the opportunity to have a rich and rewarding experience while at the Elms. The contributions from our alumni and friends of College of Our Lady of the Elms enabled us to improve our campus facilities for the enjoyment of the entire Elms community. O’Leary Hall, Spaulding House and the dining hall in the Mary Dooley College Center were renovated and a reflection pond was installed in front of Our Lady’s Chapel.

This past May we graduated a class of 343 men and women with students who came to the College from as far away as Bolivia and Zambia. We sponsor several domestic and international service trips, recruit talented athletes to our 15 sports teams, and maintain our standards of academic excellence as we strive to educate our students in mind, body and spirit. As chair of the board of trustees and an alumna of the Elms, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your support. It is because of your contributions and your belief in the value of the work we do that the College can continue to educate reflective, principled and creative learners in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Sincerely,

Linda K.C. Mansfield ‘77 Chair, Board of Trustees
