CÜNEYT ÜNAL We know that the world’s problems come out from the lack of love. People have prejudice. They dont know the other countries or religions or races. They see other side in “the Dark Side”. That is why, they think the other side is an enemy. They are like the blinds in a room. Once upon a time, there lived six blind men in a village. One day the villagers told them, "Hey, there is an elephant in the village today." They had no idea what an elephant is. They decided, "Even though we would not be able to see it, let us go and feel it anyway." All of them went where the elephant was. Every one of them touched the elephant.

"Hey, the elephant is a pillar," said the first man who touched his leg. "Oh, no! it is like a rope," said the second man who touched the tail. "Oh, no! it is like a thick branch of a tree," said the third man who touched the trunk of the elephant. "It is like a big hand fan" said the fourth man who touched the ear of the elephant. "It is like a huge wall," said the fifth man who touched the belly of the elephant. "It is like a solid pipe," Said the sixth man who touched the tusk of the elephant. They began to argue about the elephant and everyone of them insisted that he was right. It looked like they were getting agitated. A wise man was passing by and he saw this. He stopped and asked them, "What is the matter?" They said, "We cannot agree to what the elephant is like." Each one of them told what he thought the elephant was like. The wise man calmly explained to them, "All of you are right. The reason every one of you is telling it differently because each one of you touched the different part of the elephant. So, actually the elephant has all those features what you all said." "Oh!" everyone said. There was no more fight. They felt happy that they were all right. The moral of the story is that there may be some truth to what someone says. Sometimes we can see that truth and sometimes not because they may have different perspective which we may not agree too. So, rather than arguing like the blind men, we should say, "Maybe you have your reasons." This way we don’t get in arguments. It is explained that truth can be stated in seven different ways. So, you can see how broad our thought is. It teaches us to be tolerant towards others for their viewpoints. This allows us to live in harmony with the people of different thinking. The aim of this magazine is to meet the people together. To construct a bridge called “love of bridge.” There is a nice quote about love: “When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far, no one can ever tear them apart.” I hope students can have this.

The Starfish Story Hi Everybody! In our first edition, I would like to share a story which was told me when I was a student.I have been teaching for 10 years and since I heard the story I have been trying to make a difference for the students whom I have relationship. Because most of our students are alike the starfish.Here is the story, I hope you will like it: One day a man was walking along the seashore. He noticed that during the night many seashells and starfish had washed upon the beach. Thoroughly enjoying the morning sun and cool sea air, the man walked for miles. As he strolled along, he noticed a small figure dancing in the distance. It made him chuckle to think of someone celebrating life in such an uninhibited way. As he drew closer, however, it became apparent that the figure was not dancing. Instead, she seemed to be repeatedly performing some ritual. He drew nearer still and noticed that the small figure was a child. She was methodically picking up starfish and tossing them into the surf. He paused for a moment, puzzled, then asked, "Why are you throwing these starfish?" "It's high tide," she replied, "If I leave them on the beach, the sun will soon dry them and they will die. I am throwing them into the ocean so they can live." The man considered her actions, impressed with the child's thoughtfulness. Then he motioned up and down the miles of the beach. "There must be thousands of starfish along here," he said, "you cannot possibly make a difference." The young girl stopped. Her face darkened. She chewed thoughtfully on her lower lip, "You're probably right," she said softly. She looked down at the sand. Then she leaned over, carefully picked up another starfish, pulled back and arched it gently into the sea. With a tone of gentle defiance, she said, "But I made a difference for that one."

Our School Yalvac Sehit Latif Keçeci Anatolia Teacher’s Training High School is founded in 2001. It is a very succesfull school. It has 258 students. The name of the school is inspired from a soldier killed in a terrorist attack. His name was Latif Keçeci. It has 28 teachers. We have branches in Language teaching, Turkish-Maths and Science. Our headmaster is Hasan Ali Burdurlu 35 year old teaching experience. His assistant is Mehmet Ali Salman. 30 year old teaching experience.

YALVAÇ It is bound to Isparta Province. It is in the 105 km northeast of Isparta. It is on an area of 1415 km2. It is a very old settlement area. It has a lot of historical and cultural values. The district organization was founded in 1840 and the municipal organization was founded in 1864. There are 13 towns and 25 villages bound to Yalvac. Yalvac, with its very old history and cultural features, has a rich tourism potential. Antioch in Psidia (Antique City) has a different importance with the important roles it played among the antique cities established in Anatolia and its unique structures. The Yalvac Museum that exhibits the cultural richness of Yalvac is a considerably rich museum with the products belonging to the periods of Rome, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. One of the important values among the cultural values of Yalvac is the “Library of Yalvac Haci Ali Riza Efendi”. Its establishment dates back to 180 years ago. This library has been continuing its activities in its own building since 1970, and is among the most important cultural heritages with its more than 30 millions products. In the centre of Yalvac, there is a State Hospital with a capacity of 150 beds, a Maternity Hospital with a capacity of 50 beds and also three Clinics.

Psidia Antiokheia An old Byzantine city. The city was excavated in 1920â&#x20AC;&#x2122;s. It has remains of a theatre, public bath and Saint Paulâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Church

The Grand Plane The Grand Plane which was presumably planted in 1200s and is about 800 years old is 16 meters high. The perimeter of its body is 10.25 meters, its diameter is 3.26 meters, and the length of its branch varies between 7.50 and 15.80 meters.

MOSQUE OF DEVLETHAN The mosque that was constructed to the name of Devlethan, the brother of II.Kilicarslan, in the 14th century and has reached to our time after some repairs. The architect of this mosque that represents the characteristics of Sultanates Period is not known. According to the records of Ottoman Empire, the name of mosque started to be mentioned in relation with the charged persons after 1726. The mosque was constructed with hewn stones combined with lime mixture, and especially the architectural building elements (marble embroidered blocks and inscriptions), belonging to the previous years and brought from the place of ruins in Antiokhia, were used as folding materials on the wall and the outer facade of mosque is not plastered.

MEN TEMPLE There is a sacred site that is approximately in 5-km-southeast of antique city of Antioch, at about 1600 meters height in the Gemen Grove, and comprised from the structures that were gathered around a temple that was built for Men who was one of the mystical gods of Anatolia. The Sacred Site of Hill Karakuyu on Sultan Mountains still attracts attention as a result of the fact that it is covered with pines that were the sacred tree of Head God (Patrios Theos) of Antioch. The hill gets its other name (Karakuyu) from the water source that dried near Byzantine Church constructed in the sacred site. The sacred site was founded at a point overlooking the whole area and seeing the Plain Yalvac that was the dominant area of Antioch, the Lake Beysehir in the southeast and the Lake Egirdir in the southwest at the same time.

YALVAĂ&#x2021; LIMENIA ISLAND The Limenia Island, 25 km far from Yalvac, in the Lake Hoyran, is a unique place where a mystical air blows for the visitors. The surrounding of the island is covered with waters. The Rock Tombs on the rock slopes of island attract people with their locations and architectural styles. Another historical value in the island is a monastery belonging to the Virgin Mary.

CULTURE HOUSE OF MUNICIPALITY (THE TRASZADE MANSION) It was constructed with adobe and wood materials, and its ground part was laid with stone materials including the folding blocks at the level of mantel base. The house, the first part of which was constructed in 1840, got its final appearance in 1911 after some attachments.
