The RealReal is both part of the resale e-commerce sector as well as Luxury Goods sector. In terms of resale e-commerce, it's main competitors are Rebag, Fashionphile, Vestiare Collective, Farfetch SecondLife, ThredUp, Depop, Ebay and Poshmark, although the last four are not exclusively luxury and only TheRealReal and Ebay handle furniture and home decor as well. The RealReal has a unique advantage over competitors by being both a market platform and a retailer, and in some of their stores, offering a multi-use environment. Through this they can better serve their consumers and compete with their competitors. Another unique advantage TRR has is that unlike their competitors, they offer non re-sale products as well at slightly discounted prices.
