PI NGREE S CHOOL (2011-2015) South Hamilton, MA Graduated with distinction. Received the Jeswald Art Award and 11 departmental honors in Visual Arts, Math, Science, English, Languages and History I chose to pursue interior design because I think that the built environment can have a profound impact on the way that people experience life. The space that surrounds us can transform our attitudes and feelings, and even the way that we act. I think that interior design has an undeniable influence and provides the opportunity to be able to enrich and improve others’ lives. My creative mind allows me to see and experience the world differently and I hope to use it to brighten and enhance everyday life for others. I find myself drawn to the planning and organization of a space because it’s something that I feel the most effectively designed spaces do really well. I am fascinated by how space can be designed to simultaneously fit the needs of so many different users through flexible design solutions. In a world that is changing so rapidly, I think the ability to easily adapt a space to evolving needs is invaluable and I strive to create designs that embody this.

I designed a Cambridge, MA office for the luxury skincare brand, Sunday Riley. I began by researching the brand’s products and important brand values. Additionally, it was vital to implement safety measures that responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and prioritized physical and emotional safety of employees. After completing space planning, I utilized the brand’s product packaging as inspiration for specifying different areas of the space with color, easing wayfinding. I focused on creative uses of space and designed custom furniture pieces, including the front desk and the tech help desk under the stairs. In addition, I had to choose one manufacturer to select workplace furniture from, and I decided to use Allsteel.

I was tasked with creating a hospital that offers an emergency room, urgent care, a lab & diagnostic suite, and a long term care facility of my choice. Because of its serene coastline, I chose Ipswich, MA as my location, and inspired by a personal connection, I chose pediatric cerebral palsy treatment for my long term care center. My focus was to create a facility that feels inviting and comfortable rather than clinical and sterile, and that helps to ease some of the stress that’s often inherent in healthcare settings. Additionally, I researched the benefits of healing gardens and incorporated several in my project, allowing visitors and staff to experiencing the calming and healing powers of nature. MA I N LOBBY

The Isle is a family-friendly resort that strives to promote meaningful connection with nature and encourage guests to incorporate more sustainable lifestyle choices into everyday life. For this project, a lobster serves as inspiration to create a tough exterior that can withstand the elements while designing interior spaces to be soft and inviting. The use of curved lines on a lobster’s body inspires the incorporation of organic forms, which helps inspire feelings of movement and excitement, propelling guests to be active and to try something new.

REVIT - PHOTOSHOP - PROCREATE (IPAD) The Isle is a semester-long urban ecotourism project on the site of Winter Island in Salem, MA. I was tasked with creating an ecotourism resort with a restaurant and other amenities for guests, utilizing an existing airplane hangar to create a multi-use pavilion. I embraced the existing structures on the island to create moments that would encourage exploration and enjoyment of the outdoors, like an outdoor stage area in the remnants of an army barrack and bike paths throughout, while respecting the site’s history. I also considered physical and emotional safety of guests with regards to the ongoing COVIC--19 pandemic.

deep blue diner hospitality design REVIT - PHOTOSHOP - PROCREATE (IPAD)

For the restaurant component of my design forThe Isle,I was partnered with a graphic design student who developed the restaurant brand and wall graphics for the interior. The Deep Blue Diner is a dinerinspired, family-friendly restaurant with a contemporary twist and an ocean theme. Some of the key brand attributes include: vibrant, friendly, nautical, experiential, playful and energetic. In order to incorporate diner-inspired elements, I chose to use booth seating, which also allowed for privacy and safer dining during the pandemic. I also created a curved, dual-height counter and bar area inspired by the long counters often used in traditional diners. I created suspended ceiling elements, the wave-like blue ceiling piece, the bow of a boat, and a school of fish over the counter, and to make guests feel like they’re under the ocean. This is further emphasized by the differing floor materials, which serve a dual purpose of subtly suggesting where guests should circulate to encourage social distancing.
