Managing the production of Animal Defenders International’s (ADI) UK, US and South American publications from first draft to completion and, where necessary, mailing. This includes six annual spinal publications and a large range of campaign and marketing materials, many of which are multi-lingual or non-English language. I have also been responsible for preparing and sending the monthly enews letter, managing the Web Campaigns Associate, general updating of the website and presenting many of the printed publications online. ADI is a not-for-profit organisation and this role involves constant liaison with other internal departments and external agencies in order to ensure efficient use of time and money. _____________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Career history February 2008 – September 2008 Market Research Interviewer; Kantar Operations

A multi tasking role including design, artwork, art direction and studio management. Managing my own publications, POS and packaging projects. Overseeing the work of junior team members and freelancers as well as supporting the Head of Department. Organising and art directing photoshoots and carrying out digital image retouching.

August 1997 - February 2001 Senior Designer; Medex

Project Manager for Montagne Jeunesse; a range of body care products that are vegetarian and against animal testing. Taking projects from concept to print, including packaging, POS and exhibition graphics. Art directing photoshoots and supervising printers, both in the UK and abroad.

Managing a busy Design Department, dealing directly with clients on all aspects of the marketing of their products. Overseeing the work of junior team members and freelancers.

Full time Foundation Degree in Animal Management and Applied Science; PASS. Awarded Best Performance on the Course. I chose to take a break in my career as a Graphic Designer and return to higher education in order to broaden my knowledge of animal management and science. Excellent marks for many of my assignments led to a Best Performance on the Course Award (90% for an Ethics and Welfare Journal, 80% for an Ethics and Welfare Poster, an average of 85% for work placements and 78% for both Computer Studies and Financial Studies).

I have a strong sense of design and creativity and am computer literate with experience in Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design), Quark Express, Freehand, Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge, SharePoint, the internet and email. I am highly organised, with the ability to manage time and workload for myself and others in order to ensure prompt delivery of projects. I am used to a busy, professional environment, working alone or in a team and often within a budget and to tight deadlines. I am adaptable, confident and hard working, with a strong sense of responsibility. I have a full, clean driving licence. _____________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ Work placements and voluntary work

2007: Two weeks work placement at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation (WHF), Kent. 2006 and 2007: A total of six weeks work placement at Compassion in World Farming (CIWF). Many major office based projects were undertaken, several of which were continued on a voluntary basis after the placement. These included work on transferring CIWF’s image library into SharePoint and collating into an Excel presentation the results of an extensive international survey. 2006: Two weeks work placement at the Animal Reception Centre, Heathrow Airport as an Animal Health Officer.
