Braunton Parish Neighbourhood Plan Consultation

Throughout 2021 work on drafting the Braunton Parish Neighbourhood Plan and its accompanying Parish Character Assessment was undertaken and is now completed. Braunton Parish is the formally designated area for the Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan contains the detailed local policies that are specific to its designated area which are used by planning applicants and by local authority planning officers. This first draft document set is now ready for review by residents for their feedback, and for submission to North Devon Council Planning Officers. The feedback from this review activity will inform the final version of Braunton Parish’s Neighbourhood Plan.

A public consultation will be held at the Parish Hall on 19th March 2022. This drop in session provides residents an opportunity to review the proposed Neighbourhood Plan and provide feedback. The event will provide information on the four policy areas that the Neighbourhood Plan addresses, as illustrated on the opposite page, together with particular aspects within each policy area. These four policy areas influence the Community and Character of the Parish which residents value highly. Members of the Parish Steering Group will be in attendance to answer your questions and discuss how the Neighbourhood Plan sits in the overall planning context.

This event will be run in parallel with an online consultation and a postal consultation. Details of which to be announced. Funding has been obtained to develop a new website where draft documents will be available to view electronically in time for the start of the consultation in mid March:
