La forma affermativa si costruisce con: soggetto + be + going to + forma base del verbo principale

I’m going to buy a new T-shirt. Comprerò una T-shirt nuova. Il verbo principale rimane sempre alla forma base, mentre si coniuga il verbo be (vedi Be - Present simple pagina 5). I’m not going to do a project, I’m going to surf the Net! Non ho intenzione di fare una ricerca, navigherò in Internet! Nelle risposte brevi si ripete il pronome personale e il verbo be. Are you going to leave tomorrow? No, we aren’t. Partirete domani? No. Quando si usa una parola interrogativa (What…? Where…? Why…? ecc.) questa va prima del verbo be. What time are you going to call me? A che ora mi chiamerai?
Il futuro con going to si usa per esprimere: l’intenzione di compiere, o non compiere, un’azione I’m going to have a party. Darò / Ho intenzione di dare una festa (ma non l’ho ancora organizzata). He isn’t going to help me! Non mi aiuterà! Non ha intenzione di aiutarmi! un evento che sta per accadere. Look! Those cars are going to crash! Guarda! Quelle auto stanno per scontrarsi!
