Media Release ELGIN ST. THOMAS PUBLIC HEALTH HOSTING DROP-IN SESSIONS St. Thomas, Ontario, April 16, 2013 – Elgin St. Thomas Public Health would like you to drop-in at an information session. The community is welcome to bring questions and learn more about Elgin County’s new headquarters for public health services. “We are looking forward to showing people what this building will look like, and how they can use it,” announced Board of Health Chair, David Warden. Three sessions will take place across the County in May this year. Anyone is welcome to drop in between 7:00 and 9:00 P.M. Public health staff and Board Members will be available to answer questions:   

Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Elgin St. Thomas Public Health (99 Edward St., St. Thomas) Thursday May 16, 2013 at the Aylmer Legion (211 John St. North, Aylmer) Thursday May 30, at the Rodney Community Centre (135 Queen St., Rodney)

The staff and services of Public Health will leave 99 Edward Street for the new building at 1230 Talbot Street, St. Thomas at the end of this year. Public Health provides services to area residents, professionals and businesses throughout Elgin County. Some of these services include: • Clinical services ranging from dental services to sexual health • Home visits for parents by public health nurses and parent resource workers • Inspections and consultations by public health inspectors • Skill building and education sessions • Partnerships to promote and support healthy communities For more information about the building, or public health services, please contact David Warden, Board of Health Chair by calling 519-631-9900 ext. 1203 or e-mail: warden_dave@hotmail.com.
