A RECORD-SETTING YEAR DESPITE LAST MINUTE CHANGES
DLC’s sold-out Sound Minds Luncheon 2022 featured keynote speaker Emma Benoit, who captivated the crowd with her amazing journey to mental wellbeing. Because of the outstanding support of our DLC sponsors, donors, and volunteers, this signature event raised $400,000 and set a Sound Minds fundraising record!
A suicide attempt left 16-year-old varsity cheerleader, Emma Benoit, paralyzed, but propelled her on a mission to use her painful experience to help others find hope and shine light on the fact that 20 young people die by suicide every day in the United States. Emma shared her inspiring journey, her quest to walk again, and what we can all do to prevent suicide.

The crowd was incredibly honored to hear from Emma about her journey of surviving a suicide attempt to finding hope, healing and purpose—which not only propels her to thrive, but also inspire others to seek care rather than suffer silently.
