An artful, tireless, inquisitive, and hard-working architect, who enjoys developing, individually or in a team, my creative dexterity so as reaching and improving my goals day by day. After completing a great number of architecture projects, I have gained experience as well as a variety of skills which allow me to have a critical and professional point of view in what refers to urban landscapes. While being experienced, I have capacity to outstand in difficult situations because of my rapid problem-solving method.

Seeking an arquitecture internship for an undetermined period starting on september 2023.

LA MAR UPM (2020-2021)

La Mar consists of a museum of the sea, a building without expositions or exhibition rooms located in the island of Tabarca, Spain.

The museum of the sea is an opportunity to get to know better the island and the ecosystem that surrounds it. A place where you can feel, smell and hear the sea... A space between walls and under a roof, where there are no rooms or exhibitions, but where the magnificent sea is being represented.

An irregular shape located at the southern end of the plain, a route where the scarcity of openings makes the viewer remain almost dark, an infinite corridor enclosing a courtyard that hides a portion of the island, from which you can not see the sea, but you can feel it. Each opening is a strategy. A moving painting.

Main plan

Concrete is the only material, creating a contrast that impacts with the natural colours of the place and the lightness of the sea, while respecting the brutality of the rocks and the wall. The building adapts to the topography, taking advantage of the unevenness of the land to generate a slope along the route and a double height. In this, it is where a shop and a restaurant are hidden below the rocks.

The island’s constructed area is composed of long-rectangular solars in which small and bad organized houses were constructed many years ago. The project consists of a reform of one of those solars.

My solar is located in a privileged place of the island, being the protagonist of the west view of the coast. Being so representative and presiding over a public space, the house subordinates a part of its plot to public use on the ground floor.

The main wall aims to hide what happens inside, opening few gaps that do not express what is hidden behind them and that try to attenuate the powerful light from the west.

The game of the empty space generates terraces with views to the sea, all of them subordinate to the central one, where a pool is located flush with the hole from which to contemplate the sunset.

The house is distributed over three floors, although the game of heights and slopes makes it difficult to describe it as such. The interior seeks to be impressive. A monumental stair crowns the southern wall of the house, organizing the space as in the Balearic houses and generating a series of sensations in those who contemplate it.

Concrete is the material chosen, thanks to its materiality, versatility and roundness. The project plays with the incidence of light and the position of the openings, since the elongated dimensions and between party walls make interior lighting difficult.

EL PUENTE IIT(2021)

Amazonas forest is a natural paradise that had to overcome a lot of difficulties to be where it is right now. The bridge project follows that concept. I wanted to make a clear cut in the environment, something that from far away seemed like a solid and nitid intervention but when you get inside you could find a difuse space without an end.

Conceptually, the bridge is a box filled with different-sized columns that follow determined grids to create spaces inside of it. I play with the diferent densities and heights to determine the use of spaces and to guide indirectly to the people with the views.

The main aim of the bridge is to promote the cultural relations between the two villages separated by the river. The plan includes activities such as a dance hall, an arts class, an exhibition room, a market or a rest spot with hammaques.

The meeting with the floor is solved with a curved slope, which follows the line of the whole project, and which favors motorcicles to cross the river. Also, the columns are considered also as supporting elements, in that way, they can hold elements such as the hammaques and the fabric cover of the market.

It’s an enormous cultural element that can offer not only an easy and fast way to cross the river, but also a world of culture and sharing between the inhabitants of Amapa and Pará.

LA ISLA IIT(2021-2022)

The project consists on the design of a cemetery in the Chicago River. It’s located in the south side, and it destinated to unclaimed bodies. We chose a material that could be activated by light, give dynamism and, at the same time, be lightweight and strong: a composite material with a honeycomb sandwiched between rigid outlayers.

The cemetery is composed by vertical panels that are going to give shape to the different spaces. Its aluminum core gives strength to the wall, and its voids can be used to contain the ashes of the unclaimed. The glass panels at each side protect and strengthen the core and allow us to change the character of each space by varying the material of the outer layer. Also, this aluminum layer consists of cylinders of varying diameter, some of which are urns.

View theheart ENTRY & TUNNEL It has an unique access point that goes underground and connects directly with the heart of the project, in which the walls are white and is a serene and peacefull space, after that you arrive to the space representing childhood, which reminds of innocence and movement. Here we play with the scale of the cylinders, to make the visitor feel smaller. Adolescence is a messier space, with places to hide and to think and adulthood is at the level of water, floating, representing stability. Finally, we arrive to old age, a mirrored space which invites self-examination. where the mirror effect outstands, because in the end, you only have yourself. Visitors exit via the path through which they entered. The cycle finishes when, through this ramp you arrive again at the death, which is also the birth. Once a year (the 21st of july) the island is lighten up at down through a whole week in order to honour all the bodies and the lifes between those walls. Vertical and horizontal prisms, both of very slender proportions and 100 meters long. They will be located in the project of a park located where the Cuatro Caminos metro depots were formerly located, in Madrid.

The blocks are arranged in relative proximity and will have to attend to the relationships between the high and the long, the upright and the lying down, the extruded and the compressed.

the objective of the project aims to turn both constructions into an architectural landmark in the city of Madrid, without breaking into the surroundings of the area, serving as a space for housing and daily development in a natural space in the middle of the city.

Ground diagram

In the horizontal prism, the first intention was the visual division of the park in terms of leafiness and order. It’s an element of union between the two streets that surround it, rising so as not to interrupt the circulation of the park and to open accesses at the ends of the building.

Specifically, the horizontal uses minimum housing modules and complete homes. In addition, the building is passable from one side to the other and includes different open and closed common spaces, accessible to all users.

The skeleton that supports it is made of wood. It consists of an interior supporting structure that holds the houses and from which the enclosure or “exoskeleton” hangs. This materiality seeks to interfere as little as possible with the image of the city, providing the feeling of transparency and lightness and integrating with the adjacent elements .

Plan and section West elevation

In this case, the intention is to play with the scale, by adding horizontal elements every 60 cm that do not allow to distinguish the number of floors or the delimitation of the houses.

It is formed by a central communications core that holds part of these horizontal elements. The rest are layed on the previous ones since they have no structural purpose. In this way, a support building is generated in which the wooden slats shape the spaces and furniture.

We can observe how, being arranged every 60 cm, these are able to shape to the entire living spaces, giving rise to different possibilities of minimum housing that vary in terms of orientation and floor layout.

In addition, the materiality used, allows to obtain a sense of transparency and lightness in addition to offering privacy to users and a 360º view of the city of Madrid.
