METER PROGRAM The meter operates under multi-tariff duty, enabling energy multi tariff metering in 4 tariff registers. Multi-tariff metering is governed by a time program having the following structure: Seasons: Up to 6 time periods (seasons) of the year characterized by two beginning dates, so that each period is appealed two times a year. Rules: Each season is associated 1 – 14 switching rules (valid within the respective season) characterized by the following: The week time zone for which the rule is valid. The hour and the minute when the tariff switching takes place. Number of the tariff register where the metering takes place. Other programmable parameters: Besides the tariff program, the meter operating program allows the following programmable parameters: The rule of changing for the daylight saving time hour characterized by the month when the change takes place (programmable between March to May for the summer and between September to November for the winter ) and the week of the respective month 1- 4 or the last week. The communication speed as defined in IEC1107 mode C. The number of decimal figures for currency. The program has a certain syntax related to the programming lines, as shown in the table below: Programmable Program line Significance Quantity N000(dd.mm-dd.mm-TTTT) N=season number 1-6 Season dd=day 01-28 mm=month 01-12 These two characterize the two beginning dates of the respective season TTTT the tariffs in which the reactive energy will be metered (4,3,2,1 activated if T=1, not activated if T=0 in the corresponding position)

Other special commands are also available. The program files proper, edited or read from the meter have pceet15 extension. Their implicit location is <Folder Opticom2K>\ENERLUXMP Files\Program. Programs editing and writing operations are made by means of a properties sheet. Every time it is appealed to for the creation of a new file, its contents will be of a self-created program file type called “template.pexmp. Since this file is self-creating during the program running, do not save your own programs in this file.

5

Operating program creation, editing, and writing

The operating program creation, editing and writing can be carried out by means of PROGRAM property sheet. The contents of the property sheet contain either template.pexmp file, or the program file loaded in the view zone of the main window of Opticom 2k program, if it exists. The property sheet contains three pages of properties: Program preview, TOU program, and Parameters.

6

Program preview

This page enables program files loading and saving, current loaded program view, the specification of target meter parameters (address and password) with reference to the current meters list, the specification of what is required to be written into the meter, as well as the communication process starting and control. This page is always present. The table shows the current program contents loaded for editing and/or writing. Description column shows the program line significance, Value column shows the program line according to syntax, and Explanation column contains a concise explanation of the program line. The non-defined program lines have NULL value. Load button enables the loading of a program file other than the current one by means of a standard box, Open. If the user has made modifications in the previously loaded file, a warning will inform about the loss of the modifications that have been carried out. Save button pressing saves the current file loaded by means of a standard box, Save As. Meter group contains the combo box referring to the list of current meters, and General option referring to a generic meter not included in the meters list. The Decimal figures for currency can be selected from the up down controls. When quitting the properties page, the contents of Program preview is updated with the modified values. METERS ACCESS Communication with the meters The communication with the meters is based on IEC1107 module C protocol provisions. The type of transmission is asynchronous, half duplex, with the following format of the communication word: one start byte, 7 data bytes, even parity, one stop byte. Communication starts with a foreword, initiated by the computer which comprises the selection of the meter through its address, the meter type reading, and the negotiation of the baud speed at which the communication will take place, and the type of communication (data reading, program(s) reading). After this initial phase the reading or writing operation is carried out. The address of the meter is the specified one in the current list selected in Opticom 2k program, and it has to correspond to the meter series + the last two digits of the manufacturing year. The address is compulsory only for the meters connected to this communication bus. In case of meters read through the optical port, the address is not needed to be specified, the address used being General. On the other hand, the addresses 10

of Pxx cu xx=00…39 form are reserved to be used together with the parallel multiplexing interface. They shall not be used if this interface is not present at the meter parallel port that has been previously selected. The communication speed is proposed by the meter, and it is the speed previously preprogrammed in the meter. The program may ignore this proposal and forces another communication speed. Data reading requires only the knowledge of the communication protocol. An automatic safety algorithm ensured by the program shall be fulfilled in program reading mode. The programming mode requires the knowledge of the password previously entered into the meter. If no password has been previously programmed, the chosen password shall be void (equivalent with NULL password). Certain reading or programming functions are available only when the meter is in the CALIBRATING MODE. This mode operates only if a hardware modification is carried out in the meter after its unsealing. EnerluxMP.mpl module accepts only Enerlux MP type meters. If another type of device is accessed, even by observing IEC1107 requirements, error is signaled out. Reading dialogs behavior

The dialog box enables the configuration of the meter reading dialog boxes behaviour by selecting or not Starts automatically and Close when communication ends options. Default password editing field enables password configuration for “General” options, as well for the quick programming. Meters reading The meters reading functions refer to the following possibilities: The data reading as they are supplied by the meter. The reading of the meter work program as it has been previously programmed. The reading of the meter status data: clock, display mode, working mode, price/tariff. The reading of a complete report of the contents of the meter memory which sums up the values of all the previous reading types.

11

The result of the successful reading operations is the storage of the data read in the files with names of the following type: MeterSerialNo @yymmddhhmmss and extensions of dexmp, pexmp, sexmp types, and rexmp type, respectively (for program files @yymmddhhmmss does not appear). After each successful reading operation, the corresponding file will be automatically loaded in the view zone of Opticom 2K program. The reading of the meter program and the meter status is carried out by using the safety algorithm, while the data reading is possible only on the basis of the data reading procedure, according to IEC1107 mode C. All the reading operations are made by means of Read meter dialog box.

This dialog box is displayed after launching any of the reading command. Exit button pressing, closes the dialog box. Meter group contains the data of the current meters list, and also General option referring to a generic meter not contained in the meters list. In case there is no current list, only General option is present. Description combo box contains the descriptions of all the meters from the meters list selected in Opticom 2K program. The selection of the target meter is made from this running list. If All meters check box is selected, the programming operation will be successively applied to all the meters on the list. If the current list is null, the check box is disabled. This communication option shall be used only when the meters are connected to a communication bus. Serial no editing field reflects the contents of the current list according to the meter series (used as a communication address). For general option, this contains General. The alteration of this field is operative only during the presence of the dialog box, it not being comprised in the list of the meters used by the program. If Start automatically check box is marked, the communication process will start at the same time with the launching of the dialog box, and if Close when communication ends check box is marked, the dialog box closes automatically, in case there were no errors in the communication process. The status of these boxes is memorized in dlgs.cfg file. The user can modify the status of these boxes during the communication process. The box can be left by pressing Exit button. The box cannot be left during the communication process. 24

Meter calibration The calibration of the meter can be carried out by writing some digital coefficients in its calibrating memory, coefficients according to which corrections are made to the computations additional to metering. There are calibration coefficients for the compensation of the following quantities: • The phase displacement angle between the voltage and the current • The gain for active power • The offset for active power • The gain for reactive power • The offset for reactive power • The gain for the measured voltage • The meter starting current These coefficients can be determined by comparing the target quantity that corresponds to the coefficient to be determined with the value of the same quantity supplied by a standard device. The new coefficient will be determined by applying some computation formulas to the above mentioned values and to the value of the coefficient that is already present in the meter memory.

The calibration of the meter is ensured by means of Manual calibration dialog box. Meter combo box comprises the description “General”, as well as all the descriptions present in the current list of the program (if any). Address field shows the corresponding address. Thus, there takes place the specification of the address of the meter through which the communication takes place. Probe combo box enables the specification of the corresponding calibration coefficient that is to be determined. The voltage and the current applied to the meter have to be correlated with the selected test. The tests that can be selected are as follows: Voltage-voltage gain coefficient determining Zero P-active power offset coefficient determining

Zero Q-reactive power offset coefficient determining P gain-active power gain coefficient determining Q gain-reactive power gain coefficient determining Phase -phase displacement coefficient determining. The coefficients calculation is carried out by using the values of an editing controls matrix. The lines of the matrix correspond to the measuring chipset three phases (Ph1, Ph2, Ph3). For single phase meters, only the first row of the matrix is used. The matrix columns are as follows: Meter: the quantity read from the measuring chipset (read only) Calibrator: the quantity supplied by the standard device (it has to be manually entered) Error: calculates the percentage error of the quantity read from the meter as compared to the standard value (read only) Old Coefficient: the value of the coefficient read from the meter and corresponding to the selected test (read only) New coefficient: the value of the new coefficient calculated according to the formula for the selected test. The calculated value can be ignored, and the required value can be manually entered. This value shall range within –128‌127 values. The editing fields matrix that corresponds to Start up, OFFMOD, MCC coefficients, having the values of Old coefficient (read from the meter, read only) and New coefficient (manually edited), enables the manual entering of the value of the coefficients corresponding to the starting current, the offset coefficients and MCC coefficient calculating way. The editing read only control on the right of the dialog box displays the values supplied by the measuring chipset during the acquisition process. Inst values, Average and Freeze radio buttons help choosing the display (and the taking into account) the average and instantaneous values of the quantities supplied by the chipset, the display blocking respectively. Correct calibration requires the use of average values. WR and RD fields show the communication flow by displaying the number of the transmitted and read characters. The buttons that enable starting the operations adherent to the communication and calibration process are as follows: Reset coefficients: writes in the meter all the calibration coefficients of zero value Read coefficients: reads the calibration coefficients values from the meter. The new coefficients will be equal with those written in the meter. Acquisition: starts a reading process of the coefficients in the meter followed by a cyclical acquisition of the values supplied by the measuring chipset. The calculation of the new coefficient dynamically derives in correlation with the specified test. Reset average: resumes from the very beginning the mediation process of the quantities supplied by the chipset. Write coefficients: writes the newly calculated coefficients in the meter. Stop: stops the current communication process. SPE commands: starts-up the dialog box for the command of the voltages and currents generator. It is active only if a communication port with the generator has been previously specified.

Store inductive PF– it is active when the phase displacement test is selected. It stores the inductive power factor value. The meter shall have a 60 degrees inductive phase displacement. Store capacitive PF – it is active when the phase displacement test is selected. It stores the capacitive power factor value. The meter shall have a 60 degrees capacitive phase displacement. PCN calculation: carries out a precise calculation of the phase displacement coefficient supposing that the values of the inductive and capacitive power factors have been previously stored. The dialog box quitting is made by pressing Exit button. The dialog box cannot be quit during the communication process.
