CW REMC powering up new Brookston substation CW REMC’s mission is to provide safe, affordable and reliable electricity to members. In fulfilling that mission, CW REMC’s work plan in the near future will include installing a new substation in the Brookston area. Mark Jargstorf, director of operations, said, “The new substation located near Brookston will provide CW REMC with another power source to keep the lights on in this area. It will also allow us to be able to switch feeds to other areas if we lose power from suppliers. This new substation will increase reliability in CW REMC’s southern territory by giving another power source.” “The new Brookston sub should help alleviate voltage issues and will serve as a back-up resource for members in the area

from Chalmers to Delphi to Patton,” added Joel Roper, director of engineering. “We are grateful to Lehe Farms for working with CW REMC and Wabash Valley Power Association on making this important project a reality for CW REMC members and those who will benefit from this new substation.” The new substation will also be used to serve Brookston Municipal Utility customers. “It will provide them with a distribution circuit into the Town of Brookston that will have more capacity and better reliability than the circuit currently serving them,” Roper said. “The new substation will be up and running at some point in 2020,” added Jargstorf.

OFFICE CLOSING FOR HOLIDAY Carroll White REMC will be closed Nov. 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving. Our employees and directors wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving! NOVEMBER 2018
