Thigh engraved “T” on one side and with a heart pierced by an arrow on the other side. Baleen blade attached to handle with wooden mount. Length 10.5”. 500/800 Provenance: Finch & Co., London, 2007. PAGE TURNER WITH WHALE’S TOOTH HANDLE 19th Century Whale’s tooth handle carved with a heart containing a hex sign on one side, an anchor with rope on the other side, a rope design at the base, and geometric chip-carvings throughout. Baleen and shell dots inlaid at tip, base and within the heart. Shell blade affixed to handle with exotic wood mount; mount decorated on both sides with a carved mythical eye inlaid with whale ivory and baleen. Length 13.75”. 1,000/1,500 Provenance: Acquired at an antiques show in San Francisco. The Collection of Sam and Donna McDowell.
