COMPOSITIONAL ENFILADE
A group project with Katie Gaines
Program: WTE + Recycling center + Bathhouse/Nightclubs
Site: Wallabout Channel, Brooklyn, NY
Influenced by still life art works, our proposed project elevates the “vessel” to create a series of interlocking interiors, blurring human and machine spaces on the Brooklyn waterfront. The use of vessel geometry acknowledges the site’s proximity to water and gestures to its unique program composed of multiple pools. The program will tap into both the family-orientedness of the area, as well as the current dining and nightlife scene in Williamsburg. The program encompasses a wide range of facilities within a waste-to-energy (WTE) plant and recycling center. Through the incorporation of a bathhouse and spa alongside a nightclub, we’re able to utilize heat from the WTE process for the sauna, steam rooms, baths, and salt rooms. There is also an educational center and restaurant on the site along with the aforementioned public pools and sauna. Additionally there are vessels that are nested within the overall structure to delineate human and machine spaces, cultivating a new take on the architectural enfilade.
ALTERED ESTATES
Program: Addition to existing structure
Site: People’s Park Centre, Singapore
Interiority is a concept of increasing importance to architects in urban centers today. Cities are becoming denser day by day which leads architects to construct new spaces on existing buildings. Communal spaces encourage social interactions and compel buildings to be user friendly. Having a proposal that incorporates multiple courtyard spaces activates many space objects. Take a step into the addition of the People’s Park Centre and experience a building that maximizes the views of Singapore by activating multiple curvilinear space objects.
SELECT PROFESSIONAL WORK
A compilation of select Architectural and Interior Design projects from my professional experience in high - end residential.
Although my three years of professional experience are heavily focused on residential design, my graduate studies at Pratt Institute allowed me to branch out to form my own design knowledge. This led to my own architectural explorations in the pages before showcasing select graduate work.
