EKBLADET - HHUS 25 years

When I had just stepped in as President in the beginning of January this year, my predecessor Sara Hultman said ”Do not forget that HHUS celebrates 25 years this year”. At that point, I really did not understand what she meant, yes HHUS have its 25 years jubilee this year and then what? The celebration for HHUS 25 years took it shape through a birthday week filled with all kind of activities - sittings, mingle events with our partners, birthday cake eating, happy birthday singing and much more and then all ending up in a jubilee banquet together with our members, management team, old board alumins, our dean Sofia Lundberg and HHUS inspector Elin Nilsson, our partners and U9 representatives. The evening was all magical and something I will never forget.

I would also like to thank Umeå School of business, economics and statistics and our dean Sofia Lundberg for giving us the opportunity to wish for something for our 25th birthday. So from next week, you will discover a new TV screen in our beloved lounge where we both can look at “Världscupen i skidor” together, as well as having smaller conferences and communicate even better to you members what is going on within HHUS and at the university as whole.

Since I only had been studying at the university during covid, as well as my friends around the country, we did not quite know what kind of celebration that was expected nor how it was executed. So I started to investigate, and I believe the best place to get inspired regarding this kind of matter is the U9 network - and I sure did get inspired. With that being said, this is sadly my last contribution to Ekbladet as HHUS President. I have had an amazing year, I am beyond grateful for having all of your support and faith. And when one chapter closes another opens, and I will be moving to the US next semester.

Back home in Umeå again after U9 in Jönköping, I shared all the valuable information and input I got from U9 with the board and we started planning for this huge celebration. I wish the best of luck to my successor Lilly Andersson
