The start of our year was a real rollercoaster: after having been called and drinking champagne all night, the next morning we already went on transition week with the former board. Between my summer holidays I was at the office with my new board and in a relaxed pace we could already get to know each other. After two freshmen weekends at the end of the summer, 8 people of whom most I barely knew before, already started to feel like friends. The rest of the year has flown by.
During my year there were quite some peaks during which I learned how to deal with stress and manage a project or event, like Sustainability Week, recruitment periods and the Inspiration Days. Hanging out with all committee members and working together with my own committees was always a highlight of the week. I really liked that there was also time to work out long-term plans for other things, like recruitment and HR, EFR Academy, and sustainability and diversity.
Next to my ‘job’, what I liked most about being in the board is that during the year, you work so closely with your board and see each other so much, that you automatically become very close friends. Not only have we already set up some amazing events together; we also did many fun off-duty things, like skiing and city trips to Vienna and Berlin. Even though I’m definitely not done with the board year yet, I’m looking forward to meeting the 60th board and going on the transition week with you!
