THE LOCATION OF THE SCHOOL Analysis of the location When planning a new school, it is advised to consider various locations and find the most feasible site not only for learning but also for the community centre. The most important aspect to consider is that the school must be close to students so that as many children as possible could come to school on foot or by bike thus enhancing their independence and exercise habits. Proximity to residential areas allows the local people to organise community events in the school premises and this way make the school a natural part of their everyday life. A school building does not always require a large plot, an interesting multi-layered school environment can also be designed into a dense urban environment intertwining the public and the private, indoor and outdoor spaces.
