Home.Health.Care.
Founded in 1920 as Norwell Vising Nurse Association, NVNA and Hospice currently provides high-quality care across the continuum of home health, palliative, and hospice care to patients and families from 27 communities. What started over 100 years ago with one nurse visiting homebound patients in one town is now a $30 million not-for-profit healthcare provider, 300 caregivers strong, earning many accolades, including the Five Star Patient Experience Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. With the mantra of “neighbors helping neighbors,” NVNA and Hospice offers 24/7 compassionate and patient-focused care to a daily census of 800 patients and families. Whether in private residences, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, or at the agencyʼs Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, patients are cared for here they call home.
In addition to home care, hospice, and palliative care, NVNA and Hospice provides many complementary services, such as bereavement and spiritual care. As part of its charitable mission, it offers NVNA Supports, wellness and public health services made available to its South Shore neighbors, including support groups, disease-specific education, health screenings, and informational forums. Its non-profit private duty care affiliate offers a full range of services including homemaking, personal care, nursing, and other services. As home care and community-based services increasingly become a national and local priority, NVNA and Hospice continues to make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of people throughout the South Shore each year.
