I am a hardworking student that wishes to go to PJ’s Cosmetology College in Glasgow, KY When I get out of college, and once
I start a salon of my own, I would want it to be here in Tompkinsville or in Glasgow. I would start with a small business and slowly expand my services elsewhere. I would have a shelf by the front where there would be all forms of hair dye, semi-permanent, permanent, temporary, etc., as well as different combs, brushes, and hair styling equipment. As my business grows, I will expand my inventory and supplies to a larger variety. I want to make my family proud and become a successful cosmetologist and one day, I will own my own cosmetology salon.

The specific element(s) from the eDynamic Learning curriculum that has helped me gain clarity about my career are, for example, the lists of materials that I will need and/or will be working with, the types of face-shapes, haircuts that go well with each type of face-shape, hair colors that match skin tones, etc. I know that every single lesson I have taken, every assignment I have done, all are to not only prepare me for what is to come, but for my own benefit as well as others. For a clear example on face-shapes and haircuts that go well with them. For a round, circular face-shape, a blunt cut is one of the many that go well. As for a diamond face-shape, a long style with side swept bangs goes very well.
After I have learned about the career field, I am passionate about cosmetology. Through the eDynamic Learning curriculum, I have taken more of an interest in school in the subject areas that I know are necessary for the field I plan to pursue. I have taken an interest in the field of hair in cosmetology rather than skin and nails, but after what I have learned, I am very excited to discover more as I graduate and go to college.
After I have learned about various career fields through the eDynamic Learning course, I did recognize that my skills improved and lined up between the time of when I first started to where I am now. The soft skills required for the career I am pursuing do include people skills such as being kind to others and being friendly towards clients/customers and other staff members.
In conclusion, I feel that everything I have done in this unit will benefit me in some way throughout my career, helping my knowledge within the field of hair for cosmetology grow to lengths that will help me properly pursue the college I hope to go to.
