TYPOGRAPHIC REGISTER The process of mapping Allt Slugan a’ Choilich requires defining key characteristics in the biography of river. Whilst comparisons of source (its youth) and mouth (its maturity) project a disparate body of water, certain constant qualities - that it has gradient for example - allow us to chart typographies. Using a discrete register to plot simulated conditions and then identify them in the field generates a pictographic taxonomy for the qualities of Allt Slugan that can then be crossreferenced offsite at a later date.
