Growing affordable housing Council has released a new plan to increase the supply of affordable housing in Port Phillip. It is a long-standing priority of Council to maintain a diverse and inclusive community, and ensure housing remains available to those who are socially disadvantaged and marginalised. In Our Backyard - Growing Affordable Housing in Port Phillip 2015-2025 explains how Council will invest in and support the provision of community housing by local community housing organisations. Exploring potential planning mechanisms for Port Phillip, including Fishermans Bend, is also an important strategy to encourage delivery of affordable housing by the private sector.
